I'm downloading the trial version of Corel Painter now to see if I'd want to spend ALL THAT money to buy it...TT^TT
Like if it's good enough or I can just get away with colouring in SAI.
I'm also looking for any other programs that I could try out to see which I can work with the best to get the results I'm looking for...like being able to colour in a certain style.
I really like the traditional kind of look and SAI has more of a silky kind of look and I guess I can work on making it look more traditional, I'd just like to try other things before I settle for just one program.
What does that sound like? XD
But I've heard Corel Painter is pretty hard to use if you're not already comfortable with it. I'd just like to try it out, though, to see if I like it.
I really love SAI and all it's tools and stuff, but the most traditional looking picture done on SAI still looks like it was done on SAI.
Actually, most CG art you can tell what program they used to do it. It's just like how you can tell what traditional medium a person used.
Photoshop looks more plastic-y
SAI looks more silky
Corel Painter looks more chalky
And I like chalky pictures. But I'm going for those top recommended, top used programs.
Who knows, maybe experiencing different programs can help me improve in SAI because I've gotten a new experience.
And since...it might be 30 days, I'm not sure. And I'm going on a trip soon and then after that I'm starting school, I'll try to draw as much as I can on Corel Painter and try it out as much as I can before the 30 days are up.
And good thing it's just the beginning of school because it's usually pretty easy at the beginning, and then the homework starts to come (not that the homework is ever hard...takes me like 30 minutes or less to do...>.>).
So expect that any pictures I post will be done on Corel Painter from here on out.
And I'll save EVERYTHING so I'll probably have a big sketch dump at the end! XD Until my trial version runs out that's all you'll be seeing.
And then if I like SAI more then I might go back, but if I really like Corel Painter I might buy it...>:D
