Welcome to the Lolita Chateau!

This is a world completely dedicated to lolita fashion! Anything loli related can be posted here, such as photos, recipies, poems, tutorials, stories, etc. If you'd like to be a guest poster here, just send me a message! ^^ But if you do post in this world, please refrain from using any harsh language. This world is open to everyone, and lolitas should be well-mannered and polite anyway. Thank you and enjoy! ^o^

Lifestyle Lolita

I've always loved the concept of lifestyle lolitas. It's like actually living in the fantasy victorian age instead of just dressing from it. I'm a lifestyle lolita myself. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, it's when a lolita tries to live her life like she's in her fantasy victorian age. This includes decorating her room/house with things that match her lolita style, taking up hobbies such as baking or sewing, and sometimes even seeing things from a more elegant lolita-esque point of view. For decorating, it mostly depends on what style of lolita you are. Sweet lolitas would probably decorate their room in pastel colors and use decorations that have candy or sweet fruits like strawberries on them, while gothic lolitas would probably go for a more vampire-esque theme with darker colors, silver tea sets, and decorations that have an aged look. Lifestyle lolita means taking the lolita fashion and turning it into a way of living. Here are some steps from WikiHow to becoming a lifestyle lolita. Even if you have no interest in becoming one, it's still interesting to know about.

1. Study the Victorian and 18th Century French life style for inspiration and combine elements you like into your everyday life.

2. Read the novel, manga and movies versions of Kamikaze girls. The main character Momoko is a lifestyle Lolita.

3. Try to build your Lolita wardrobe. Places like "Anna House" and "In the Starlight" are wonderful for those on a budget, as well as other Indie shops which carry Lolita. Ebay is not recommended as, quite often the stores won't use their own photographs, and you will get a bad item.

4. You should try to have multiple skirts, jumper skirts, blouses, a good pair of Mary Jane shoe which are practical for everyday life and Lolita specific undergarments if you feel the need. Black or white Mary Janes are good for most clothes, though if your clothes are centered around the color pink, pink Mary Janes would be nice.

5. Now that you have your basic outfits focus on getting a parasol and such.

6. Once you have built your wardrobe, begin to rebuild your personality.

7. Stop cursing. Lolita lifestyle is often interpreted as trying to live like Aristocracy. The idea here being that ladies don't swear, for that is very vulgar.

8. Try to take on a elegant manner, think about how you walk, eat, sit. Slouching is very unattractive. Try walking with your eyes level and not on the ground, walking a little angled down a flight of stairs will add to this outer elegance effect.

9. Form a Lolita group in real life, go on trips, swap clothing and what ever you want to do. Some Lolita-esque activities may be things like tea parties, art shows, watching movies like Alice in Wonderland, even bake sales!

I found this little dress-up game while I was looking around for lolita stuff. It's so cute! ^^ I had to post a link to it here! It's a really simple and basic little dress-up game. I used to love things like this! =^^=

Weekly Update

Okay, so from now on, I'm going to try to have some kind of weekly update like this. It'll mostly be updates on random stuff like what I'm planning to post, maybe a new or unique loli style I've found, etc etc. I try to make this world fun for all lolitas! So if you have any suggestions, please let me know! ^^

Wow, there are a lot of cute photos posted in here! ^o^ I'm going to take some photos in my loli outfits sometime soon, so if anyone else would like to post their own photos of their loli dresses, please do so! ^^ I'm also working on drawing up some patterns for a dress and skirt, so I'll be posting those when they're done too! I also have quite a few yummy recipies that I want to post, but I don't have any photos of the sweets yet. When I make them again (hopefully one this week) I'll be sure to take a photo so I can post the recipie for it!

As for now, au revoir!
