So the first think I am going to do is fix the 4x4 shifter linkage. After doing some research on the internet and learning that my local auto part shops told me the best luck would be to check a local junk yard for one I am going to make a better connection. I found that using some hardware from Lowes you can make a connector linkage.
Below is a picture of what the linkage should look like.(This picture is of a Ram 2500 pickup truck. Same concept for my truck just a little larger.)
I plan to stop by Lowes today and get some parts to try and get this fixed.
UPDATE 12/24/2013: Well it looks like I will be working on this later in the process. After thinking about it this will be easier a little down the road so this is now to be put on off till later.
