So for the last couple weeks I have been fighting with removing the exhaust system on the Dakota. That lead to the cutting of the catalytic converters and the exhaust pipes off. Most of the trouble came from trying to remove the old engine manifolds. I had been stuck on removing those for a few weeks.
I was able to remove all by three bolts over the span of two weeks. However, to remove them I ended up borrow a neighbor's cutting torch to melt / cut them off. Work really well except for some slight fire damage. I melted the wire protection on one electrical plug but thankfully none of the wires were melted. The large problem was I melted a hole in the u-joint boot cover on the front axle. So that needs to be replace in the near future but the manifolds and the entire exhaust is off.
Pics to come.
