Welcome to my little corner. I'm new to the worlds, so please bear with me! Still trying to find people and organize things. Glad to greet long known friends and new ones!

Water!

GAAAAH! 111 F degrees for the past several days! If I walk outside for 10 min, I get sunburned! At night, the house is 80 degrees! Even the bird is growling- Now the air conditioning is kaput! (still need the garage door). Ah, Panda, So happy to hear from you. My trips are local (like 20 miles or less). And recently, lunch time I walk a block to see the turtle pond, and watch the turtles for 15 min. There are 4 of them, and they are quite a hoot, in an otherwise rushed day. They just ease around the pond, swim, and take their time. They are smart! (and very cute!)

Sad to read about Satoshi Kon-- I really enjoyed his creations...

Well, time for the garden hose to wet down the grass seed I planted last night (too hot otherwise) hope it cools fairly soon for a break, but I know the heat is here to stay until October. (just hope it stays out of the triple digits and I can get the AC fixed!)

Trying to get it together

If you had a saying, used to characterize you, what would it be? Mine would be "Just when I find it, it gets changed or moved". Still haven't quite got the hang of how to change backgrounds, or mess around with the look of the site (like the old site). Well, guess I'll have to keep trying.

And at work" burned up or whatever the 3rd computer in 2 years! Wow , is that getting old! Yet, still have had the same one at home for several years. The big parrot (now only parrot), is still a little afraid of seeing letters appear on the screen as I type (Bad Boy was so bold s to "type" himself, walking over the key board! That's a big change-- just the one bird. Work is really busy -- when I get a few moments , I still knit. I'm making the second sock for next July 4th- red, white and blue lace socks! If the weather isn't too bad, I'll try to find some local places to do some photgraphs. Haven't been to Venice beach in a while (Believe me, that would be a great background for anime!). Guess I'll look through the book of local places to travel and plan it out. Although , the house calls out for a new garage door ! Sigh, not exactly what I want to do with my time.

Well, time for some anime (still just love Cowboy Bebop--- but also am loving Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood)

Candle in the window for my friends, Panda, CosmicSailor, Twilight Samurai, Kitsune Tsuke, and Caprice. Love you all.

The bird

I have had 2 parrots for a long time-- yesterday, when I came home, my little parrot Bad Boy was very sick. He was the heart of the house. He would walk up to the phone and talked, though a limited vocabulary, and constantly in motion. He made me laugh. He was comical but very smart. I have a second bird, an Amazon who would mimic may of his antics. Bad Boy passed away yesteday, and tears are still in my eyes, seeing his empty cage. I miss hime, and my Amazon misses him- they jabbered all day. I am glad Ramana is with me, but she is going to miss her daytime buddy. I felt I had to write this, even if no one reads it....

Good bye Bad Boy, may you be sent on winds of delight to parrot paradise. You will be greatly missed. I am greatful for all the unexpected fun and pleasure you brought into our lives.

grapes---

Um.. two pictures in one post did not work for me-- so hopefully here are the grapes:

A little travellin music

Well, once again a quick trip-- to Missouri this time. Our family friend graduated, so we travelled to St. Louis-- and had a wonderful celebration! We tooled around the lake on a pontoon boat, a friend caught their first fish, and we went to the Meramec Caverns when the weather got rainy. Nice thing about a cave, you stay dry-- and amazed. This cave was were Jesse James would hide after a train robbery, and count his loot while apparently vanished! (true story!) The cave formations are beautiful, the rocks coloured by the minerals (uh oh! Mamma's starting to go rock nuts! And California has 183 rock and mineral trails! Oh, MY!) At the Meramec Caverns, there's a formation knick named "Grapes, and the Wine Table" These grapelike clusters are apparently only found in 2 places in the world... so I will paste some picures to share the cool things I saw....

the first picture are baby stalactites , named soda straws, and hopefully I can find a picture of the grapes...
