Welcome to my little corner. I'm new to the worlds, so please bear with me! Still trying to find people and organize things. Glad to greet long known friends and new ones!

Little Packages

Well, this weekend I got one of the mini notebooks -- so I can just doodle and play wiht the internet in free time, and read or play games. Just let the steam out with some mahjong at lunch. Will have to see how this works and take time with it, but looks like it could be fun. The persimmons are growing , and beginning to turn a little yelowish. By the time October comes, they should be orange, like little jaock o lanterns. The hummingbirds go nuts for them, I still seem to have problems with pictures in the posts. I don't knows if its size of something else. Gonna keep trying!. Have a good one everyone.(I am going to try to add the picture of the little bird that I found in Little Tokyo with the corn.) Happy Nissei week!

Miso Soup

Well, another amazing weekend. I wanted to drive to Little Tokyo, in LA. One of my favorite places. There's a wonderful museum, and some mystical looking little shops, that just seem to beg to be featured in an anime. It feels timeless there, walking about, finding things like an ancient fire tower, a stature of a samurai (ironically, now in front of a bank) and there are the restaurants, and the New Otani Hotel, with a beautiful rooftop garden. I have a little wooden geisha girl hanging on my purse, with a small bell. Everyone knows where I am by the sound. ( I have to figure out and manipulate pictures to post them here. ) I wanted to go this weekend, but Mr. Flu Bug had other sinister plans. And... in the end he won (Dag nabit! I wish I could find the Japanese word for this)

While walking there, I spied a little sparrow. It was staring at a piece of roasted corn, that was as big as he was. What was he going to do? After a few seconds, he jumped on it, rolling over and over as he tried to fly away with his prize. When this did not work, he settled for taking his fill instead. The message I took from this--- no matter the odds, don't relinquish your dreams!

The mysteries of the Daylight

:image "blink' wassis? I think I seen this before, ooh, bright... hmm whats this called... ahm, daylight! The world has been work- sleep - work for too long. Clouds hang heavy and thick for the past several days-- atypical for Southern Cal. Well, I think I'll try to go to a movie or something. Each weekend has been filled with workmen and contractors-- each week, something else busts. That's been the past several months. Yeah,, there;s something new, but the workman came out yesterday, and the fixing for that project will start, I swear at ths rate I;m going I will have a new house in a couple of years. But, never the less, a free day while I'm awake (another rare occassion). Well, I think I'm gonna try to get to see Up, it looks pretty funny. Any favorites for movies this year? Well, hello to friends, hope your weekend is good!

Time Out !

I'm just going to peek out of The Closet of Anxiety--guess it is OK to come out. Yeah, things keep needing to get fixed , GRR! Well, at least I have an extra day off this weekend to also run errands too-- each weekend has basically been to snooze, knit, or hang out with my favorite anime discs. (despite the need for more mundane things like chores, shopping-- tuckered out after work, and getting stuff fixed). The challenge of will I have persimmons is on-- lots of flowers this year, but I', find small persimmons falling off the tree. I'm rooting for some of then to hang on until October, the humminngbirds will be able to eat all winter. Each persimmon is filled with sweet liquid.. the hummers love them. I won't be able to go to anime expo again-- have my business trip late this year , but at least I will be close enough to visit my sister for a day. Well, one day I will get new garage doors ( the current ones "smile" the wood is kinda warped but other stuff keeps popping up. Glad for the holiday to just relax and unwind a bit.
I think it would be appropriate to add a picture of a gopher tortoise, I feel hthat's the kind of eergy I've had. Besides, they are cute. Hope I can upload this.

Anime....ah it refreshes

Right now, my brain is a crispy critter! All the things that have broken (hard to fix while at work!) grinding away for the past 10 days, and sore enough to have trouble sitting-- there's a trip. So, last night I whipped out Cowboy Bebop for the millionth time watching Asteroid Blues. The art still pops, and Yoko Kanno's music is great! Now I have a CD in the car with several of her tracks from various animes. I wonder if she will write the music for another? I have to find soe of my photos fro Ft De Soto-- a gorgeous beach and nature park... and it has turtles! I'll be going back there is late June-- camera and all and hope to start getting some phtos in my posts again. Right now after being at work 10 hours, time to get ready to lay down, and again spend time with a favorite old school anime... wishing my friends all the best!
