The second yaoi feature! Alright, after all these good features, I figured I'd go more into the territory of "meh", which is precisely the most dangerous one because it's just so difficult to say why something is bad yet also not that bad.

Synopsis
During an outing at the beach, salaryman Ayase Kai almost drowns but is saved by a merman. Even though Ayase tries to convince himself it was all a dream, this doesn't change the fact that his body has been very sensitive since their meeting. And it gets even worse when a strange businessman who introduces himself as "Prince Kagetsu" approaches Ayase one day and suddenly kisses him, claiming that Ayase is now in heat!
Plot and characters
Judging by an extremely simplified version of the plot, this is just a minor variation of the "man is rescued, rescuer disappears, then appears again and demands the rescued one's love in return". Aside from the mermen aspect, there's not much to set this apart from others of its genre.
The backstory in the beginning is somewhat short and I expected more character development to compensate, but there's not much to analyze. Ayase is the standard uke who resists at first but loosens up later (no pun intended) and Kagetsu is the madly-in-love seme with no other goal in mind than to make Ayase his; the only character I found interesting was Sakuya, one of Kagetsu's older brothers, with his addiction to cleaning. Even his lover, Ryuji Toba, is more of a comic relief than an important addition to the plot.
Ayase, Kagetsu, Sakuya, Ryuji Toba
Concerning the ending, I'll just say it's very abrupt. While it does tie some loose strings, it just leaves you wanting more and feeling like you still have at least two chapters to read. This is where the manga could've made up for the lack of proper character development but missed its chance; there are still some questions regarding a character and situation introduced in the second-to-last chapter, so why not develop them further or at least introduce them earlier to flesh them out better? Aside from feeling like a few pages (or chapters) are missing, I suppose you could call it a satisfactory happy ending, which is pretty fitting for this simple manga.
Art style
Well, the art is visually pleasing and I won't say no to that, but the men look very feminine - especially the mermen who, as we all know, are famous for their beauty. Guess this can get in the way when you want more realism, since this is little more than eye candy. If you're more into the "bishie" type of art, this will definitely satisfy all your needs. The female secondary character (and quite possibly the only girl in the manga!) is well-drawn too, though she's more of a plot device than an actual character and appears in only two scenes.
And a word about the mermen tails: I found them absolutely gorgeous. They're drawn in detail and appeared more often than I expected, which was a treat for me since I'm obsessed with mermaids c:
Final verdict
Well, it's nothing monumental, but it's a decent read if you like mermen, BL and bishies, 'cause this has plenty of them.
Originality + creativity: 0.5 / 1 points - for the merman twist; otherwise, it's one of the most common themes
Characters: 1 / 2 points - little to no evolution, saved by Sakuya
Realism/believability: 0.5 / 1 points - OK, mermaids don't sound that farfetched here, but how they're hiding is unbelievable
Art: 1.3 / 2 points - it looks OK, though the men look a bit too feminine at times
Flow: 0.4 / 1 points - felt like some panels/pages/chapters (!) were missing towards the ending
How much I enjoyed it: 1.3 / 3 points - mostly for the art but it does have its moments
My final rating: (5 out of 10)
