okay, here's some pretty basic stuff of what types of instruments are in a marching band, i'll just put the instruments we have in my marching band for now...
Woodwinds
~Flutes
~Piccolos
~Clairanets
~Saxaphones
~Tenor Sax
Brass
~Trumpet
~Mellophone
Low Brass
~Tuba
~Baritones
Drumline
~Tenor drums
~Snare drums
~Bass drums
Pit! (a.k.a. front ensemble)
Now they get all the fun stuff!
~timpani
~tambourines
~maracas
~cowbells
~marimbas
~xylophones
~ They have even more stuff that I'm not even sure about, but i'm pretty sure you get the point
~In some other marching bands, they even have electric guitars
Some tips:
~If you have Brass instruments, buy polish. They do have to be polished for performences.
~You're instruments have to be in tune so don't grumble about it, trust me, NOTHING sounds worse than two piccolos out of tune, not even nails on a chalkboard.
~DOn't stand next to piccolos, they play wicked high and they hurt your ears, even if you're used to it
