Whatever happened to long, male hair?
It used to be a sign of power and masculinity.
But look at us now.
We consider anyone with long hair a freak.
WHAT HAPPENED?!?!!?
What happened since Conan the Barbarian? His hair was almost waist long. He had the babes crawling all over him like flies on the corpses of his many slain enemies, whom would crap themselves upon hearing his name! Why isn't that true now?
Ok, Conan had biceps that could bust walnuts and the best set of abs known to man. But that's beside the point.
Lets use another example. Beowulf.....Rambo.....Samsom from the (shudder) Bible.......
Ok, they had awesome bodies too, but the hair was part of the tough guy look. And in Samsom's case, the hair was a source of power.
And you know what? Long haired guys are scary. I should know, I am one.
The old people are scared of us. And that doesn't exactly work in my favor. Because that means I don't get hired.
And middle aged people don't like it either. I have a full luscious head of hair, and they're balding. Who suffers? Me.
I DON'T GET HIRED.
I DON'T HAVE A JOB.
I DON'T GET MONEY.
I DON'T GET CAPITAL.
HE gets a wig, and nobody notices the difference.
THAT is UNFAIR.
Most of the discrimination started waaaaaaaaay back when haircuts were made affordable for the common man. Long hair meant you were poor.
Then the world wars came, and the military cut was in fashion.
Then came the 50s came. Any guy in the 50s with long hair was usually trouble. He had it either slicked back, with a leather jacket and a red sports car, or hanging down, while he read poetry.
Then in the 60s, pot smoking hippies showed up.
A trend similar to this continued in the 70s (although it was drug smoking rock stars instead of hippies)
Rock stars in the 80s and 90s did drugs and girls.
Yeah, we long haired people have a long line of injustices behind us, and a bad reputation too.
But long hair is obviously a sign of commitment and decision making capability. One must go to the barber not too often, else the hair will get short, but they must still go, else the hair gets split ends.
