Spreekalins

She felt emboldened and as light as a feather. She could tell Night believed in her which was definitely something new for her. No one had ever really given much faith in her before because of how clumsy and hyper she was. It was a great feeling that seemed the flow throughout her veins and capillaries.

Squeezing onto his hand tighter, Elizabeth took a step forward with Night, bringing her right in front of the strange creature. He did a sort of bow, bending at his waist with his right arm bent in front of his stomach. She mimicked him, hoping it was the proper gesture, elbowing Night in the side to copy her. After straitening up, Elizabeth finally asked something that had been on her mind for a while now.

"This... may sound rude, but what are you?" She tilted her head after she asked as random possibilities ran through her mind. Her eyes once again glanced around at all of the others that had scattered amongst the tree. She smiled seeing a few of the smaller ones actually clinging to the bases of a few of the trees that were closest them.

The tall and colorful being stood up to his full height, completely dwarfing Night now, his fur rustling slightly from the movement. The small talismans and beads he had twined on his person made a soft, delightful twinkling sound. He laughed deep in his chest, the sound seeming to make the very air around them vibrate. His gaze roamed around the clearing before he looked at Elizabeth, his large orange eyes peering into hers as he sad loudly and clearly, "We are the Spreekalin."

Expect the Unexpected

Night took Elizabeth’s small hand in his own. He was becoming accustomed to this gesture seeing as how his hands were so much larger than hers. Sometimes he wondered what she thought about him but he knew he’d never look at her more than a younger sister. He was comforted in this notion, to have human contact in this strange place that he felt he couldn’t trust. He looks down at her little face and into those vivid orange eyes. “Tis up to you Elizabeth.” He spoke her full name, which he almost never does but to him it was a personal move, so that she would understand how much he was putting his faith in her. Night wasn’t sure what was about to happen but he would prepare himself for anything odd, unusual and expect the unexpected.

Jalek

Elizabeth grinned up at Night as they looked around the clearing and up into the trees. The creatures were still staring wordlessly at them. It felt as if they were waiting for something. She was at a loss as to what, but she was yet again curious to know. Turning her head toward Night, she whispers, "We need to find the one from last night. He told me we need to go to the cliffs of Cah Pu Kae Kah.

A rustling sound passed through the air, causing the two to quickly look up. The lemurs were beginning to move now, streaks of color blurring through the leaves and branches. Elizabeth was smiling in delight, her mouth opened slightly as she turned her head this way and that to look at all of swirling colors.

Suddenly the sound completely stopped; the air was still. Not even two seconds later, a large orange, red, and yellow creature flew from a tree to their right and landed, crouched down in front of them. Night jumped back, shouting in alarm as he tried to yank Elizabeth back with him. She stood rooted to the spot, staring into the dark orange eyes.

The time they stared at each other seemed to stretch on forever, but Elizabeth didn't want to back down. She wanted to know why he told her to come this way. While she had been looking around earlier, she noticed there were giant versions of the flowers they had seen earlier dispersed throughout the tree canopy. Surely this must be a special place. With all the staring the creatures were doing, she felt this was close to the truth.

Night was still behind her, tense and unmoving. She grinned to herself. He was such a worrier.

Finally, the creature resembling a lemur spoke. He had a strong, deep voice that spoke of power and age, and made her feel safe. His body showed none of the latter as he stood up and looked down at the two which wasn't hard at his height.

"You have arrived, small ones. I am impressed with your courage. There are few who would have taken a stranger's words and trusted them without question. I felt you would, though, so I am unsurprised."

"My fellows here," he swept a long, furred arm through the air, "are curious of you." He paused glancing around at the creature who had resumed their moving about, but were still staring at the pair. "They wish to meet you. Never before have they met ones such as you two."

Glancing behind her, Elizabeth caught Night's eye. She smiled and shrugged, reaching towards him again to pull him forwards. "So Night, what do you think? Shall we have more fun?"

Trustworthy

Nights discomfort was not eased at all with the admission to himself that her so called dream she might have had the night before was actually true. Now, he could actually see the creatures for himself. His eyes went wide and he dropped the satchel he had made to carry the fruit in front of him. He was in awe at the paradise before him and shock with so many creatures sitting and waiting. His jaw was hanging open and he wasn’t even quite sure what to say about any of it. Only his wildest dreams could have created such a paradise.

The entire collection of Lemur like creatures stared as if they were waiting for something to happen. No, they weren’t staring at them; they were staring at Elizabeth… but why?

He was worried for her, but her attitude had not shown any sign of fear and he thought for a moment that he was being over protective. So far, she had lead the way and she had been the one to face the unspeakable. His eyes traveled to where she stood and lingered there for a moment, before looking to the leafy satchel on the ground. He exhaled a silent breath and picked up the stick. He looked back to Liz with defeat in his eyes, knowing that he had to put more trust in her. He had to stop getting so upset over things he did not understand. He felt that his fears were going to get him killed so he gave in and decided to follow the fearless; Elizabeth.

He stood by her side, practically dwarfing her with his height and he looked around at all of the creatures staring down at her. He looked back to Elizabeth. “What say you little one. What is our next move?” He manages to smirk letting her know that he was ok, if for whatever reason she thought him not.

Pah kee

Elizabeth stared in amazement at the glass flower. All of the colors drained out of it as soon as Night had plucked it from the curtain where its brethren hung. A few droplets hung desperately to the petals. She went to touch one with her fingertip so that she could look at it closer. No sooner had her skin made contact, the droplet instantly absorbed into her skin.

She jumped a bit, merely surprised. Night on the other hand, shouted and knocked the rose from her grip and grabbed her hand, inspecting her finger where the only sign of the liquid was a faint swirl of colors. Now he really was worried. What in the world would just absorb into a persons' skin, let alone grow how it did!

Elizabeth was happy enough. The spot on her fingertip emitted a small warmth that felt quite safe in her opinion. Her curiosity completely over took any other emotion as she walked through the curtain to the other side. She turned around to wait for Night, who seemed to take ages to come through. She couldn't blame him to much; not everyone had the same amount of curiosity as she.

After a few long moments he finally walked through. Grabbing a few of his fingers -- for she couldn't hold his entire hand -- she turned around to finally look at what was on this side of the curtain. Her eyes widened with wonder as she tried to take it all in. There so many colors! It put what they had seen while walking to shame. Everything seemed to glow with vibrancy. The leaves were the brightest and deepest greens she had ever seen. Flowers were strewn about everywhere; on the ground, the trees. They were falling in front of her even!

Moving her eyes higher up, she gasped. There were eyes. Many, many eyes staring at her in confusion and the same curiosity she had had moments before. They looked exactly like the creature she saw earlier. Except each one was a different color. No two were alike.

Two things were certain. First, here was no telling what their reactions would be to two strangers randomly appearing in their home. Second, she wanted to hug one.
