Night seemed to be in some kind of trance. His sleep was unnatural and he lay motionless on the ground. At this point his breathing couldn’t even be seen nor heard.
The singing grew to a higher pitch, the creatures eyes started to glow as Liz’s pace drew her closer to it. She felt as if she couldn’t stop herself and her calls for Night were becoming useless. The smell of cookies grew stronger, wafting through the air and Elizabeth licked her lips.
A loud screech sounded that startled the pink creature calling to the young girl. It stood on its hind legs and it kicked into the air with frustration. Liz snapped out it and stood still, looking about as if lost. She shook her head and stared at the strange creature again, seeing for real this time. Its hideousness showing through its disguise of black oozing skin covered in vegetation from the sea bed. Yet another screech was heard to the right of Elizabeth, off where the tree line was dark. The strange black equine like creature threw its hooves into the air once more before kicking sand and galloping off in the opposite direction.
A large lemur like being came from the tree line in Elizabeth’s direction. It was shades of pinks into oranges and then yellows. Its ears stood tall and it was covered in what looked like Native American talismans. Elizabeth’s eyes widened at the sight of such a strange fluffy looking creature. She bounced with joy wanting to hug it but she thought twice about that. She wondered if this creature was dangerous as well.
The creature stopped within 20 feet of her, put a long finger to its lips and made the motion of silence. It stared at her for another moment, its large burnt orange eyes reflecting the moonlight and then it turned to walk away.
Night groaned and turned onto his side, facing in towards where they had been sleeping. He ran a thick hand through his midnight locks and nestled into as if he were just getting comfortable.
