Elizabeth raised an eyebrow as curiosity began tugging at her. They were steadily getting nearer the clearing; the trees thinning out somewhat. She let her hand slide over their trunks while she passed them. Their bark had an almost rubbery texture to it.
A few moments later and the trio was standing in a leaf-strewn clearing. The tree canopy overhead was almost too high up to see, but with Elizabeth's new sight, she could still make out the leaves and branches. It was like a large, open room meant only for them. A few strange looking fruit trees were around the edges of the clearing, standing in such a way to almost look like sentinels of the area.
Elizabeth grinned up at Night yet again as she stroked Meeko's chin. He hummed happily then blinked a few times and hopped off her shoulder. He ran (or tried to) across the leaves to the other side of the clearing. Night arched an eyebrow at Elizabeth, but she shrugged and wandered towards the direction Meeko went. She stopped when she almost stepped on him for he had suddenly quit moving and was looking up at her, blinking slowly. Once he noticed she was right over him he chirped and moved past the trees.
She tilted her head, noticing a barely audible gurgling sound that was coming from where he'd run off to. A bounce in her step, Elizabeth followed the little creature past the tree line.
