PROLOUGE:
Years ago, there was a war between the creatures of light and the creatures of darkness. One of the light species were called the Kasumi. Their main target were the shadows. The two species had many intense battles, but the shadows kept finding an advantage. The Kasumi were falling rapidly, until one day, only a single family was left. A mother, a father, a brother and a sister, and a baby girl. The parents hid the children in the forest and left to fight. Nobody has seen the family ever since. Until now...
CHAPTER 1:THE GIRL IN THE CLOAK:
Connie's POV:
It all started when I was riding home from school. I looked outside the bus window and saw something in the distance. My stop wasn't too far away, so I walked towards it when I got off. When I got closer, it appeared to be a girl in a black cloak. I decided to ignore it. The next day, I told everyone about what I saw. All my friends talked about and somehow it spread to the whole school in less than a day. It felt a bit overwhelming actually. That day, I decided to walk home in order to avoid everyone talking about me on the bus. Then, I realized that the cloaked girl was still there.
This time, I wanted answers. I walked up to the girl, and asked confidently, "Who are you, and what are you doing here?". She didn't respond. "Please answer me!" I was starting to get angry. She finally spoke, in her soft voice,"Please don't talk to me. I'm sorry, but I shouldn't talk to you. I shouldn't be talking to you. I shouldn't even be here. I'm not allowed outside and I'm not allowed to talk to huma-" She suddenly stopped. I understood what she had just said, and I was shocked. "You aren't allowed to talk to humans? Either you only talk to animals, or you aren't human. What are you?" She took the hood off her cloak. She appeared to be a 16-year old girl like me. Her hair was long and dark brown and she had beautiful red eyes.
"My name is Mia. I may look human now, but never judge off of looks. If I hadn't been wearing my hood, you wouldn't have been curious. Here's how it would have happened." She pointed her finger at me and a strange misted surrounded my eyes. Suddenly, I saw myself on the bus. I looked outside and saw a figure in the distance. "Is that a girl? What is she doing? Weird. So as I was saying..." I said. Then I was back with Mia. I was shocked. "You wanted me to see you. Didn't you?" She started to giggle but stopped herself. "If you want to know more, I'll be here tomorrow. See ya!" I hardly managed to choke out the word, "Okay."
But that was nothing compared to what happened next.
