Just recently I had one of my smart brain moments. I'm VERY timid, although I've been getting better at that...LOL Anyways, when I go to deposit money on my bank account, I like to use the ATM instead of going to the teller. I had to block my 1st bank card because I was stupid enough to try one of those "trials" to lose weight pills. (Did I mention the word stupid already?) Let's just say one company sold my info to the other and I was charged something I didn't want. That's another story though.
Back to this story:
So I got my 2nd debit card. Now don't get me wrong, I've had other bank accounts, I just seem to be stupid at this one. LOL And after having my 2nd card for about 4 months, I was feeling lazy and hadn't put a pin on it yet. So I finally "mustered enough energy" (sarcasm and I are sisters) and went to the bank and put a pin. That's all great and jolly. So on Wednesday I gather my money to go and put a deposit and I had seen a few days ago a letter that said to keep my pin number, which was on the paper, for my records. So I go to the ATM and...
1st try-put what I thought was my old pin
2nd try and forward-Put the pin that was one the paper
Then I see a message on the ATM machine.
My card has been retained.
'My card has been what?' I thought. Of course, I forgot to mention that it was after working hours, so the bank wasn't open.
Okay. So I thought- 'Can't panic because crap happens(especially to me)and if I go on a murderous rampage I won't really solve anything.'
I end up coming back home, taking things lightly. But then! My sweet brother came by and asked what happened, and I explained. And he started talking about the actions I should take to protect the freakin' card and then I started to worry. Cause, well, that's the first time that such a thing happens to me.
So I'm kind of panicked and I call lost/stolen #. And tell the girl my situation. My questions to her were along this line:
Me- "So, if anyone makes a deposit now with their card, my card shouldn't come out, right?"
Representative- "No. I don't think so."
Me- "Then my card should be safe, right? I shouldn't have to worry that someone else should use it?"
Representative- "No, because the ATM retains your card until you go and retrieve it. Did you want to go ahead and put a block on it anways?"
Me-"......" "Yeah, go ahead."
Representative- "Okay, know that when I put a block on it, you cannot activate this card anymore..." Something along this line.
Me- "Wait, could you repeat that? You said it too fast.
Representative- Read Above
So basically I blocked the card because I'm paranoid and wasn't sure about the ATM retaining my card. Now I have to apply for a new one.
The rest of the continuing story will be in the next post.... Zzzzz
