~A Game of Tag~

"Plu!...Plu?...Pluuuuu?" I opened one eye to see my big brother Mi standing over me. Yawning and rubbing my eyes I sat up. "What is it Nii-Chan?" He giggled, his amber eyes shining with that playful look in them. "If I let you go, you'd sleep the beautiful day away!!" He pulled the curtain back from our tree house window, and I smiled as sunlight hit my face.

"I was hoping you'd be in the mood for some games." I giggled. Typical, Mi always wanted to play. His ears bounced up and down as he waited for my answer. "I always want to play games with you Nii-Chan." "YAY!!!" He jumped up and down and ran around doing cart wheels. Little happy sparks of electricty surged from his cheeks.
After a quick breakfast of apples, we headed out into the bright happy forest to play. "Woooow. It's so nice out. Lots of others are out too!" Mi pointed over to a tree where our friend Caden the Caterpie sat looking up at his metapod brothers and sisters. I waved. "Hiiii Caden!" He jumped a little, but that was normal. Caden is a scaredy cat.

We also passed a young Abra male who seemed to be having lots of fun talking to himself. Mi took my hand and pulled me past the abra real fast. He pointed his finger to his head and made little circles, and I giggled. Not all pokemon were right in the head. Finally we got to the little meadow we always played in. I was disapointed to see that there were no other young pokemon to play with today. Mi turned to me and smiled. "Wanna play hide and seek tag?" I nodded. "Ok then....NOT IT!!" He threw his hand up in the air and stuck his tongue out at me. "No fair!!! I don't want to be it! You wanted to play...so you be it!" He winked at me. "But I already called not it. It's a rule. You just didn't think of it first. So count to ten while I go hide!!"

He ruffled my hair and ran before I even closed my eyes." I counted to ten and then opened my eyes. I couldn't see him anywhere! Then I listened and couldn't hear him...I hate being 'it.' Mi is much sneakier than I am. I started down the path, trying to find his scent. There was no sign of my brother. After awhile my happy skipping down the path began to become a slow walk. I kept looking over my shoulder, and hoping to catch Mi following me.

The forest was growing denser the farther I walked. Almost no light shown here. I got a shiver up my spine and froze. Maybe...maybe Mi is back the way I came? I nodded my head and turned around when a twig snapped to my right. I jumped and whirled around to see a big Pinsor crunching through the underbrush. He glared at me. "You're in my way runt." I turned and ran. I don't think he would hurt me, but I was still scared. I missed my brother! I wanted Nii-Chan!

The forest became a swirl of greens and browns as I ran. I was afraid to look back in case that Pinsor was chasing me. But...I wasn't paying attention to where I was going either. When I stopped I didn't know where I was. "Mi?...Mi!?!" I curled up in a ball and sat at the base of a tree, right by a bush." Maybe if I stayed put Mi would find me.

The bush russled next to me and I closed my eyes and whimpered. Something burst out from it! "Oi Plu, I'm supposed to be the one hidding!" I jumped up and wrapped my arms around my brother's neck. "I...hic...I was so scared! I...I don't want to play this game anymore!!!" Mi hugged me. "Awe...I'm sorry Plu. Shhh...it's ok. We're together again. How about this. We'll just play regular tag now ok?" I nodded and wiped the tears from my eyes. "O...ok." He smiled at me and then tapped my arm. "YOU'RE IT!"

Mi ran off and I was left once again to chase him, but at least this time I could see him, and I knew I wasn't alone.
