Itzasura Na Kiss

Ok, normally I'm not into Romance, but this anime is what romance anime SHOULD be. It's much more about the reality of love, and how our delusions really work out.

It start out in typically pretty-boy anime style. This girl, from class F has a crush on the smartest boy in school, and argue ably in the whole country. But when she confesses, he refuses straight out. In a sad twist of events, she and her father end up homeless, and moving with with her fathers life-long friends, her crushes father. So yea, she's living with the object of her affection, who won't give her a second glance.

But after that, it gets interesting. She become his inspiration. Even though she is the one thing in his life he can't control, he grows fond of her. But still refuses to show her any direct affection.

Then it gets REALLY interesting. They go to the same college, and after a while, he admits he loves her, and marries her. But, he still acts very cold and aloof. She continues to chase other women away from him, while he just tries to go about his daily life. It even goes so far, as for her new friends to worry about her. She begins to suspect an affair, and starts getting attention from one of her new classmates. She finally tells her husband how she feels, and runs away from home.

AND IT DOESN'T END THERE! It follows them through their first child, and even afterward. Life with Mr. Right is far from a fairy tale in this anime!

I highly recommend this, as it takes a realistic, but still positive look at romance, relationships, love and the big picture. Ironically, this was originally shown me by my romance-hating BF. So yes, after the first few episodes, its very guy-friendly as well. It looks at love, not as grand displays of affection, or deep emotional feelings... but a sense of loyalty, physical or emotional.

As usually, I've never read the mange, just watched the anime, and in its original Japanese. I cannot be blamed if you thing the dubs suck.
