As far as cafes go, Brock's is a pleasant one. While their menu is not huge, they do hearty and fresh meals. It was Christmas time when I visited and they had their seasonal vegetable soup on offer and it was freshly made that day on the premises. While it lacked seasoning, the freshness was what gave it a nice edge. It was brilliant to find a place that doesn't serve tinned soup!
As for the place itself? Well, what can I say? It is cozy and warm feeling, with a nice touch of elegance to it. (So much so, I wondered if I should have worn something a little less scruffy!) The staff are friendly enough and are on hand should you need any assistance.
One thing to note, however, is that you have to go inside either Hursts, or the photo store that is joining it to get to it and climb the stairs stairs. This means that, not only is it hard to find for some people who aren't familiar, but wheelchair access is... Well... Not exactly there.
