Dairy of a busker, entry 1

Yes. I am a busker. I was thinking about making a new world to be my "diary of a busker" world, but then I thought I'd just merge it with this one. Any objections? good.

Busker: Noun, meaning a person who plays and instrument or performs some sort of act on the sidewalk of a city or town, with a hat or music case open to receive donations from the passers-by, otherwise known as the audience. It is very different from begging. Buskers are not asking for money because people feel sorry for them. Buskers are entertainers who populate the downtown areas and provide entertainment. They are merely paid by donation.

I play the violin and sing. (Not at the same time)

I like to think of myself as a gypsy, an entertainer, a circus act, if you will. I bring joy to the neighborhood.

I busked for half an hour today. I got $10.22, 18 smiles, 3 thumbs-ups, 4 people who stayed to watch for more then 30 seconds, and 1 high-five. A pretty good day. As soon as I was finished I went to the pharmacy I sing in front of, and traded 4 quarters for a pack of gum. I saw six dogs, five babies and seven crows. It's very windy today. The pharmacy sign fell over six times, and the same cashier had to fix it. She looked grumpy, but then she saw me and smiled. I'm glad I made her happy. A couple walked down the street towards me, arguing. They stopped in front of me, listened awhile, then hugged and walked off, holding hands. The world is a happy place.
