The Power of Mint

HELLOs. MintIceCream here(MIC for short) tis a world about me, and the crazy antics of my 5 cats that just love to drive me nuts.

i recently graduated from college with a BS degree in education, certified for art (I'm an art teacher). i currently sub teach while i shop for a job in my content area.

Mindy-my cat, she's a white cat with tabby splotches all over. She's 15 years old, nonsocial, phychotic, and crazy. But i love her all the same.

Texa-my dad's cat primarily, he has a tuxedo style coat. black with a white strip down his belly, on his paws, and the lower half of his face. he's also a manx(no tail) and very talkative. a gentle giant, very lovable, although he doesn't really like me to well. he's 11 years old. (he's also kind of a cranky old @$$)

Bogart-mom's cat. and mine sometimes. the very fat one of our family. he's 7 year old. a brown tabby who loves to raise chaos. he loves to terrorize the adults, and chew on everything. he's also a big pig and will eat anything. even though he's my mom's cat, he loves everyone. he's quite the ladies man. he prefers the company of women over men.

Sammie-Ryan's cat. 7 year old. he is all gray, with thick soft fur. the sweetest cat in the whole world. he isn't all that smart though, and kinda slow. definatley not our brightest bulb, but we love him all the same. he will do anything for a tidbit of human food, so i have managed to teach him a few tricks. his favorite food is gold fish. we try to tell him it's not a real fish, but he doesn't believe us.

Augustus (GUS for short)- everyone's cat. the newest addition to our family, we rescued him from a cousin who should be banned from owning animals. he was 5 weeks old when we got him, so tiny. he's now 3 years old. he is a miniture norwegian forrest cat. all black, orange eyes, and EXTREMLY fluffy. he is the baby of the family, and res1sident ninja/trouble-maker. he is also quite dog like. he will sit and shake paws for a treat, likes to play fetch, loves meeting new people, and go for walks on a leash and harness.

horrible stomach ache

i had a sort of experimental lunch today, and it has not settled well with my stomach. i had a slice of leftover pepperoni and sausage pizza. but i put a little bit of hot and spicy mayo on top. it tasted fantastic! but it doesn't digest all that well.

i'm really glad i got my car fixed. galen showed me the piece that was in my car, and i'm surprised that my tire hadn't popped off my car already. and had i been on the interstate going to school, i probably would've had a horrible crash and died. yikes. but my car is all better now and doesn't pop when i turn. so i'm happy.

i'm stuck on campus until really late tonight. i have a club meeting at 7, so i'm just browsing the net and doing homework for the next 2 hours while i wait. i wish i was home though, snuggling with my kitty.

broken car part 2

i finally got a day to sleep in. it has been weeks since i got a chance to sleep in, so it felt so nice. i spent the morning relaxing on the couch while doing homework/watching phineas and ferb. and when mom came home she helped me try and shove my bike into the trunk of my car. one of my fellow baggers said he was 90% sure he could fix my car, so i took it to his house and biked the 7-8 miles back home. though i stopped at the store along the way for a little bit. coming home from the store sucks. because i live on top of a hill on top of a hill on top of a hill. exhausting.

i have to clean my cat's kennel today. yuck! she has a lot of accidents in her kennel, despite there being a litter box in the kennel, so it's really gross to clean. but i'm going to water aerobics class with some friends tonight. they said they'd be willing to pick me up and take me to class. and they live near my mechanic coworker so i can pick my car up after class. i really hope he can fix it.

i was almost a murderer

i almost killed a fly just now. i saw a bug in the shower when i was warming up the water and i smacked it, thinking it was the annoying mosquito that has taken up residence in my bedroom. but it was just my peaceful fly. it fell in the water and was drowning, so i rescued it. from looking at it it seemed like i had broken one of its wings and one of its legs. so i caught it and decided if it wasn't better by the time i finished my shower i would have to be merciful and squash it. but it's fine. when i released it, it fly around and seemed just fine, the wing isn't broken after all (though it was still limping). fun fact though, you know those little paper cups you but for the bathroom? yeah, they aren't flushable.

today was all work. worked at the grocery store all day then spent the evening doing childcare at church. i taught my class a new game. it's called hopping bunny. you make a circle of chairs, 1 less chair than the number of kids, and face each other. then on go, you run clockwise to the next chair. there's 1 person in the middle who has to try to get in a chair before the person reaches it. if you're to slow getting to your chair you're the next person in the middle. it was fantastic, all the kids loved it. but after 20 minutes of running in circles we were all panting and tired, so we had to play another game. i love my kids.

20 mile bike ride

went on a bike ride with my parents and brother this morning (wabash trace trail). my brother just learned how to ride a bike about a month ago (at 16 yrs. old). at first i just took off and was doing my usual 20 mph. but then dad yelled at me. ryan can only do 2 mph. so i rode behind and was his cheerleader/drill sergeant to keep him moving. ryan is totally wiped out now, completely exhausted, which i think is hilarious.

parents decided to go to the arbor day farm. usually i would go with them, but they have been fighting horribly for so long now, i just do not want to put up with it anymore. so ryan and i have decided to go see lion king in 3D instead.

i have my car back!!!!!! happy days! it is amazing how wonderful to have easy effortless turning. before it was that i had to use my whole body weight to muscle any sort of turn. completely exhausting. i love easy turning. but the mechanic told me that some ball joint in my car is completely shot, and is a safety hazard if i don't get it fixed. joy. i swear my car is nothing but a money sucker. but i'm going to talk to one of my fellow baggers at work tomorrow who is a self mechanic and see if he will still do it for cheaper. hopefully he will, and my car can be fixed.

i heard on the radio that subway has lion king lunchboxes with the kids meals, so i think it is subway for dinner tonight. i need a new lunch box, and a lion king would just be epic.

it's broken. . . again

my car is broken. again. my power steering is totally screwed up. so i took it to the shop early this morning. which meant that dad had to be my ride to school. i wanted to go to work after class but i couldn't. so i've spent the day trying to do my reading homework, but mostly i've been reading phineas and ferb fanfiction, and watching phineas and ferb on youtube. oh well. but the mechanic has had my car for 10 hours, all day long, and he hasn't gotten it done. he told me 2 hours, so i'm really ticked off right now.

i don't like the university at all. i wish i was still at the community college. the only thing i like is the circle k club i've joined, and napping in my car between classes. i have a giant stuffed lion in my backseat i use for a pillow.

i've injured my left knee. it hurts so horribly i limp between classes across campus. sometimes i can't even walk. so now i've injured both knees. joy.
