The Power of Mint

HELLOs. MintIceCream here(MIC for short) tis a world about me, and the crazy antics of my 5 cats that just love to drive me nuts.

i recently graduated from college with a BS degree in education, certified for art (I'm an art teacher). i currently sub teach while i shop for a job in my content area.

Mindy-my cat, she's a white cat with tabby splotches all over. She's 15 years old, nonsocial, phychotic, and crazy. But i love her all the same.

Texa-my dad's cat primarily, he has a tuxedo style coat. black with a white strip down his belly, on his paws, and the lower half of his face. he's also a manx(no tail) and very talkative. a gentle giant, very lovable, although he doesn't really like me to well. he's 11 years old. (he's also kind of a cranky old @$$)

Bogart-mom's cat. and mine sometimes. the very fat one of our family. he's 7 year old. a brown tabby who loves to raise chaos. he loves to terrorize the adults, and chew on everything. he's also a big pig and will eat anything. even though he's my mom's cat, he loves everyone. he's quite the ladies man. he prefers the company of women over men.

Sammie-Ryan's cat. 7 year old. he is all gray, with thick soft fur. the sweetest cat in the whole world. he isn't all that smart though, and kinda slow. definatley not our brightest bulb, but we love him all the same. he will do anything for a tidbit of human food, so i have managed to teach him a few tricks. his favorite food is gold fish. we try to tell him it's not a real fish, but he doesn't believe us.

Augustus (GUS for short)- everyone's cat. the newest addition to our family, we rescued him from a cousin who should be banned from owning animals. he was 5 weeks old when we got him, so tiny. he's now 3 years old. he is a miniture norwegian forrest cat. all black, orange eyes, and EXTREMLY fluffy. he is the baby of the family, and res1sident ninja/trouble-maker. he is also quite dog like. he will sit and shake paws for a treat, likes to play fetch, loves meeting new people, and go for walks on a leash and harness.

I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i stayed home again. i feel much better though. i'm definatly returning to work tomorrow. but the pastor called me today. he asked to meet with me to talk so he can figure out who would be best to talk to my parents. i'm nervous. i haven't told my parents about him calling me yet. i have to do that tonight.

but i managed to finally log into my email for the university, and i got accepted into the department of education!!!!!! YES!!!!! i'm going to be a teacher! orientation is thursday and then i sign up for classes after that.

my mom made a cake today. my favorite, and she even put sprinkles on it! it tasted great. today's been a great day. now to just talk to my parents. wish me luck!

still sick

i slept in this morning. and i've done nothing but stay in bed all day. i did have a bowl of ice cream and it made my throat feel better for awhile. but it hurts again now. and there is nothing god on tv, so i've been bored out of my mind. i was thinking of having a movie marathon. i've watched 'how to train your dragon' and now i'm going to watch 'sky high'. maybe 'underdog' after that. man today sucks.

things still are bad with my parents. i filled out a communication card for my church yesterday. i think if my parents could agree to sit down and talk with a neutral party that maybe they could resolve some of their issues. i just hope they'll give it a try.

i hate being sick

i woke up really early today to go get donuts. my brother and i got them, a card, and a baloon for my dad today. i then tried to go back to sleep but i kept haveing coughing fits and waking myself up. i went to church for second service only because i have a class i have to teach. i medicated myself up so i wouldn't cough on my kids, and made sure not to touch any of them. thankfully they were really well behaved today. i came home and vacuumed, read some fanfiction. ryan actually played a video game with me. crash racing. it was fun to spend time with him. i have no plans for today though. i'm probably going to spend the rest of the day watching the criminal minds marathon and crocheting.

last night though my parents had a huge fight. things have been getting worse lately, and my mom is starting to threaten divorce. i'm worried for my brother. i'm old enough that i could move out, live on campus or find an appartment or something. but he can't. when they got into it last night he sought refuge in my room. i told him if things ever get really bad he can call me and i'll come get him. even if i'm in class or at work. protecting him is now my number one priority. so far things have been good today, but i'm worried it won't last long.

my parents decided earlier this week that we would be taking a trip to the old market downtown to see the farmer's market. and mom said i could invite ashley! we've been wanting to go to the old market, so i figured why not hitch a ride there with...

and it's fixed!!!

turns out nothing major was wrong with my car. te racket was full of dirt said the mechanic. the fluid wasn't able to get through, and air pockets were forming. so he flushed all the fluid out to clean the racket and refilled the fluid. i used to have to hunch over my steering wheel and use all my strength and weight to force the wheel to turn. now it turns so smooth it's unbelieavble.

and dad got Stupid (my laptop) to connect with the roter finally. he just had to redo some adress thingy or something. he said that Stupid would be faster with the new roter but he is still the same. oh well, i didn't really expect this old thing to speed up. but as long as he doesn't slow down we'll be okay.
