HELLOs. MintIceCream here(MIC for short) tis a world about me, and the crazy antics of my 5 cats that just love to drive me nuts.

Age-20
Job-substitute teacher
Gender-female
i recently graduated from college with a BS degree in education, certified for art (I'm an art teacher). i currently sub teach while i shop for a job in my content area.

Mindy-my cat, she's a white cat with tabby splotches all over. She's 15 years old, nonsocial, phychotic, and crazy. But i love her all the same.

Texa-my dad's cat primarily, he has a tuxedo style coat. black with a white strip down his belly, on his paws, and the lower half of his face. he's also a manx(no tail) and very talkative. a gentle giant, very lovable, although he doesn't really like me to well. he's 11 years old. (he's also kind of a cranky old @$$)

Bogart-mom's cat. and mine sometimes. the very fat one of our family. he's 7 year old. a brown tabby who loves to raise chaos. he loves to terrorize the adults, and chew on everything. he's also a big pig and will eat anything. even though he's my mom's cat, he loves everyone. he's quite the ladies man. he prefers the company of women over men.

Sammie-Ryan's cat. 7 year old. he is all gray, with thick soft fur. the sweetest cat in the whole world. he isn't all that smart though, and kinda slow. definatley not our brightest bulb, but we love him all the same. he will do anything for a tidbit of human food, so i have managed to teach him a few tricks. his favorite food is gold fish. we try to tell him it's not a real fish, but he doesn't believe us.

Augustus (GUS for short)- everyone's cat. the newest addition to our family, we rescued him from a cousin who should be banned from owning animals. he was 5 weeks old when we got him, so tiny. he's now 3 years old. he is a miniture norwegian forrest cat. all black, orange eyes, and EXTREMLY fluffy. he is the baby of the family, and res1sident ninja/trouble-maker. he is also quite dog like. he will sit and shake paws for a treat, likes to play fetch, loves meeting new people, and go for walks on a leash and harness.

anyways, have fun, and enjoy the power of the minty-ness.

pinched nerve?

this morning, when i went to put my backpack on my back, it kinda got caught on my hand, and i felt a pinch, and the left side of my right hand went numb. then, a little bit later, i sat down to work on my book, and my hand was sore. i had the hardest time holding the pencil, and drawing the straight lines i need for my book. i'm probably going to have to go back and redo those letters.

class let out early, but work said they didn't need anymore baggers. so i came home and took something for my hand, and started working on my book again. i've done more edits to the story. but the good news is i'm nearly done with the rough draft! i should be done by the end of the week. then i can finally start the actual piece i will turn in.

but now i'm going to go to the gym. later christie is supposed to meet me there, and lift weights with me. then it's survivor on tv tonight, so mom is making homemade pizza, and some pb+chocolate cookies. my favorite dinner ever!

fall break

today was my last day of fall break. so i went to the gym early this morning, then spent all day at work. it was nice to hang out with nicole and ashley all day. but now i'm home, snuggled with my kitty. i made some s'mores for my snack, they were super yummy. hopefully i'll get some homework done tonight.

but unfortunately, it's back to school tomorrow.

today

had to go to my practicum class today. there is one little girl, she's so tiny for a 2nd grader, and she has an intellectual disability. she really isn't ready to be in 2nd grade. i spent a lot of today working one on one with her, helping her complete her spelling worksheets. normally she has to stay in for recess to catch up with her class. but today since she got the work done, she was so happy, it was nice to see.

i was so cold today. it is gray and rainy outside. even when i was inside, i was freezing. so i went to the gym after my practicum and worked out, that warmed me up. and christie did weights with me. she told me that she failed the exam on saterday for the police academy. she aced the written and physical part. but at the end of the obstacle course, they ask you a trick question once your exhausted and winded. she panicked and answered wrong, which equals automatic failure. she was bummed, but she plans on taking the test again in 4 months. she knows now that she can pass it, so she won't be so nervous next time. and i'm going to help her practice the trick question. she's going to run laps around the track to get winded, then i'm going to show up randomly somewhere and ask her the question.

yesterday

was exhausting. it was both pay day weekend, and retiree appreciation day. we were out of shopping carts for 5 hours. it was insane. and exhausting. but busy is good for baggers, we have lots of people to bag for, so it was good. and grape juice (my favorite) was on sale, and i managed to convince mom to get some for me. now i have a whole months worth of grape juice! yay!

then i headed off to my daycare job. their was no choir practice so half my kids didn't come. we had a small group. we played 'what am i' brainteasers.

after daycare i went to an evening college kid worship sevice. it was good. got home late and went straight to bed. though when ryan went to put his cat in bed, he let mine, mindy, escape. i searched for her, couldn't find her, so i just went to bed. at 2 in the mornign, i wake up to find her curled up in a tight ball snuggled up to my chest in my arms. she was purring as loud as her old motor could. it was really cute. but i knew she wouldn't stay put and sleep till morning. so i got up and carried her down to her bed. she wasn't very happy with me.

and now i remember

why i dislike toddlers. i like kids kindergarten and older. toddlers and babies are just not my thing. i had to do childcare for church this morning, and there were two 1 yr. olds, one 2 yr old, and one 4 yr. old. the one year olds would NOT STOP CRYING. ARG *pulls hair out*. we tried rocking them, bouncing them, walking while holding them, changing them, giving them their sippy cup, we even turned on the magic bubble machine. did any of that help? nope. two and a half hours of crying fussy babies. not fun at all.

but thankfully ryan bought me lunch afterwards. i got a chicken sandwich and cookies from mcdonalds, then came home and napped with my kitty, so i feel better now. i also re-did my story i wrote. i took out the unnecessary parts, shortened it some, slightly changed the ending. i like it much better now. it makes more sense, and flows better. now i just have to finish writing it out by hand on the rough draft so i can start the final and start inking it, and work on the illustrations.

i get to go to ashley's house tonight. and i convinced nicole to come hang out with us too. i'm going to try to find my wolf rain dvd to take for us to watch, and maybe my old inuyasha dvd. and maybe, for giggles, my rurouni kenshin movie. i doubt ashley will agree to watch it, it's rather violent. she's still uncomfortable with that, and romance stuff too. especially yaoi. it's so fun to tease her.
