HELLOs. MintIceCream here(MIC for short) tis a world about me, and the crazy antics of my 5 cats that just love to drive me nuts.

Age-20
Job-substitute teacher
Gender-female
i recently graduated from college with a BS degree in education, certified for art (I'm an art teacher). i currently sub teach while i shop for a job in my content area.

Mindy-my cat, she's a white cat with tabby splotches all over. She's 15 years old, nonsocial, phychotic, and crazy. But i love her all the same.

Texa-my dad's cat primarily, he has a tuxedo style coat. black with a white strip down his belly, on his paws, and the lower half of his face. he's also a manx(no tail) and very talkative. a gentle giant, very lovable, although he doesn't really like me to well. he's 11 years old. (he's also kind of a cranky old @$$)

Bogart-mom's cat. and mine sometimes. the very fat one of our family. he's 7 year old. a brown tabby who loves to raise chaos. he loves to terrorize the adults, and chew on everything. he's also a big pig and will eat anything. even though he's my mom's cat, he loves everyone. he's quite the ladies man. he prefers the company of women over men.

Sammie-Ryan's cat. 7 year old. he is all gray, with thick soft fur. the sweetest cat in the whole world. he isn't all that smart though, and kinda slow. definatley not our brightest bulb, but we love him all the same. he will do anything for a tidbit of human food, so i have managed to teach him a few tricks. his favorite food is gold fish. we try to tell him it's not a real fish, but he doesn't believe us.

Augustus (GUS for short)- everyone's cat. the newest addition to our family, we rescued him from a cousin who should be banned from owning animals. he was 5 weeks old when we got him, so tiny. he's now 3 years old. he is a miniture norwegian forrest cat. all black, orange eyes, and EXTREMLY fluffy. he is the baby of the family, and res1sident ninja/trouble-maker. he is also quite dog like. he will sit and shake paws for a treat, likes to play fetch, loves meeting new people, and go for walks on a leash and harness.

anyways, have fun, and enjoy the power of the minty-ness.

long work day

today all we did in class was our midterm. it only took me 30 minutes, then i left. i worked all day, then the evening with the high school shift. nicole convinced me to stay. i have a huge crush on her, so she didn't have to work hard. but i enjoy sue's group of high schoolers.

i came home excited about the new phineas and ferb episode, only to discover there is no phineas and ferb on tonight. so i've decided to watch ghost adventures. probably a bad idea, seeing how i'm home alone, with just my cats. so i'm probably going to freak myself out horribly.

i don't feel good

the past few mornings, i've been super nasueas. i suspected that it was cause of the meds i was taking, they're supposed to be taken on an empty stomach. so today i decided to take a break from them, and i ate a bland breakfast. my stomach was only slightly queasy.

so the day started off good. but towards the end of my second glass i started getting sleepy and a headache. so on my 2 hour break i decided to nap in my car. i thought i was just tired. but it didn't help. so i left my third class as soon as i could and came home. i took something for my headache and another nap. but my head is still pounding a little. and mom got made cause i came home early. she always gets moody and angry when someone comes home early. she always complains she never gets a whole day to herself. well, i'd much rather not deal with her moody-ness. if i wasn't feeling sick, i would have stayed away from her. sorry for being sick.

i hate the letter 'e'

do you realize how many words in the english language contain the letter 'e'? in the story i'm handwriting in the medieval way, the letter 'e' is the most difficult to do, followed by the letter 'd'. so right now the letter 'e' and i aren't getting along so well.

today was a good day, except i wasn't able to work after class. i called and patra said she already had enough baggers, so i just went home. i worked some more on my book. i have perfected how to make my guidelines. medieval manuscripts are written in very rigid straight lines, every page was measured and the text kept in the measurements. but i discovered that the parchment paper i'm using isn't a perfect rectangle. it's slightly trapezoid shaped. so even if my lines are perfectly straight, the paper isn't so it always seems slightly off. it drives me nuts.

the time for water aerobics changed, and christie and i didn't find out till we got there and ended up late. but today we had to do the evil dreaded wall work. we did 3 sets of 3. full body extensions (jump up out of the water and push up with your arms), vertical pushups (hold yourself up out of the water on the wall with just your arms and do little push ups) and flutter kicks (laying straight on your belly holding onto the wall and kick with just your lower legs). i hate doing wall work. it hurts.

mom came home today, and came with a bag of foreign coins grandma sent home with her for ryan and i. so ryan and i had a coin party, investigating all the different coins and divided them between the 2 of us. and we started to put them in cardboard cases, but we ran out of staples, so i'm gonna have to case them later, when i can find more staples. we collect coins, i love my collection.

wanna see something funny?

are you a fan of Pirates of the Carribean? want to see something funny? watch the video (skip to 2:45 if you don't want to watch the boring rehearsal). instead of saying LAND HO like a normal pirate, carsone says LAND, HOE. he calls anna a hoe. *giggles* this dance is just hilarious, carson is such a goofball. his facial expression is awesome.

campfire hotdogs

today was a good day. i turned in the glacier lecture i spent hours making. i know that we only had to do the lesson plan, and probably didn't have to make our lectures, but i felt like it would be good practice for me to make the lesson completely. and i have made a new friend in my medieval art history class, her name is kate. we sit next to each other during class, and get along really well.

during my class with the evil group project, i snapped at on of the jerks. he was up on the ladder trying to make a ripple in the fabric we hung by somehow using a tension rod. but he couldn't figure out how. but the answer was simple, fold the fabric behind and over the rod, then use a safety pin discretely at the edge to keep it in place. i tried to tell him, but as usual i was ignored. so i snapped. i used my 'teacher voice' and told him to get off the ladder, he did so with a stunned look on his face. i got up there and, still using my 'teacher' voice, showed the boys how to fold the fabric. they listened finally, and now the fabric is folded how i said it should be done.

i then spent the afternoon at the library. i worked a lot on my book project, and realized something. even though my story is only 3 pages typed, that will translate into probably 30 pages hand written, which is WAY to much. so i need to go through my story and clean it up some more.

then christie showed up. she is testing this saterday to try to get into the police academy, her dream is to be a cop. so she got the test study booklet, and i went through it with her, reminding her how to do some certain math and grammar stuff. i'm confident she will pass as long as she keeps a cool head.

when i got home i was expecting leftover spaghetti for dinner (YUCK!) i hate spaghetti. but dad decided we should have a campfire dinner. we had hot dogs and s'mores. major yummy! and even better since mom isn't home. she doesn't like outdoorsy stuff, so we never have campfires. and she hates how messy i am with s'mores. she likes to chase me down with a wet rag and scrub my face (and she scrubs really hard, it hurts!). cause for every s'more i eat, 1/2 the mallow ends up gooey on my face. but that's what makes s'mores so great!
