I think I finally got some time to breathe again. My last assignments are in and next week will be review and prepare time since finals start on the first. o_O I still feel pretty worn out since this semester was really hard this time. At least my hard work is going to pay off. Based on the percentages of how my classes are scored, the ones that were really hard... I could fail the final and still get an A- at the end. =_= I kind of feel like I killed my brain though. So much work and studying. XP
I'm taking the summer off and working part time. I'm looking forward to that since I think it will be a nice break from all the fuss of classes. I'll be working in a plant nursery as a cashier. As soon as finals are over, I start working. I'm so looking forward to the change in pace.
I did take a little time off, at Indi's urging, to play Portal. I'm of two minds about that game. It was a lot of fun since the concept behind using Portals is really fun. But I'm a big chicken and hate games where you can die via toxic acid on the floor, deep enough to swim in. Ugh.
So I did beat the game, but at the same time, I died a number of times doing so. I missed jumps and fell into the toxic acid several times. I missed a jump and was burned alive. =_= There are moving platforms and apparently I wasn't quite on it and when it moved back to the pillar supporting it... the platform crushed my character.
Then there are these little turrets in the game. >_< They creep me out cause they TALK TO YOU! In polite women's voices. =_= If they see you and you're in range, they shoot you. The first time that happened, I froze and that hesitation resulted in them killing me.
Then later on you have to use Portals to get up above some moving metal pillars. I got to the top, deployed a new Portal so I could get to the top floor and then fell and was crushed between two of the metal pillars coming together. Talk about timing. XP Just a second more either way and I would have been fine.
Oh and I was vaporized by a flying energy ball. BOOM. That was just a what the heck happened moment. o_O It caught me from behind so at first I didn't know what had killed me. And last but not least, I died from a deadly neurotoxin cause I didn't figure out how to beat the final boss quick enough.
So I tried it again and then beat the game. It has bonus levels and challenges... but I think I'm gonna pass on the one with the turrets. I saw Indi playing and gosh.... it's really hard. o_O
Oh and one other thing...
*WHACKS INDI FOR LAUGHING LIKE A HOOLIGAN EVERY TIME THE GAME MADE ME JUMP*
Anyway, now it just needs to warm up! It rained all day long. o_O Just when I thought winter was finally over, we get cold rain. XD
