Oh, the masks
We have created
To shield ourselves
From the hatred
To hide
Behind a perfect face
And to look like
You live in a perfect place
The mask you show
Shields your heart
Your mask is too precious
That you can’t be apart
Out of fear of being
Rejected
And of being alone
And unprotected
The masks you where
Are so convincing
That other people
Can’t tell what is missing
It looks so true
So normal
That even
I can not tell
What is real
And what is fake
Behind that mask
That will not break
