Author's Note:
I hope your enjoying this so far. I've only read the first two books (Twilight, New Moon) of the Twilight series, and wanted to give this fanfiction a try. I probly shouldn't XD, I have too many going already, but I wanted to get the ideas down while their flowing. So, here we go!
Disclaimer:
As, usual I own nothing. The characters of Twilight, and New Moon, belong to Stephanie Meyer. Renka Syth, Alex Vhen, Thomas Lee, Rosalie Baker, Terrin Lanor, and the other OCs are mine though.
the Coven - Chapter 2
She felt happy around them. But, was surprised just how warm all of them got. In the chilly March weather though, she was slightly jealous of the heat, as she had to bundle up. They were different, but the glances, the signs, did not hit.
Until she met with a person she knew very well.
She had been walking with her new friends, when a familiar, pale - faced figure appeared before them. The others froze, but she walked right over. "Hi, Shuva," she smiled, and he returned it with a small one of his own.
"Hey, Terrin." She promptly glomped him, and he caught her in his arms, spun twice, and set her back down. They both laughed, and she let go.
"How do you know each other?" Boomer asked, in the same calm voice as ever.
"Ah..I think perhaps that would take too long to explain," he answered. "But she has been a friend, for a long while now."
"How long is awhile?" Renka asked, visibly more tense.
"A little over a year."
"So, whatcha doing here? Usually you meet at the house or the cafe," she asked him.
"I think that is a matter for in private."
"Okay, then. I'll be back in a few minutes, guys." She started to follow him up the one flight of stairs to the roof. Only Alex's grip on her forearm, held her back. "Alex?"
"You don't know what he really is."
"Yes, I do." She pulled her arm out of his hand slowly. "I know this isn't okay with you, but I will come back." She was closing the door behind her before he could argue.
"Not again..." muttered Renka, who ran up the stairs, and disappeared passed the door. The others came not long behind. The sight they found, caused them to freeze.
His fangs were in her neck, a single drop of blood, slid down the side. Her eyes were calm, and she wasn't moving. He drank for a long while, as they watched on, unsure whether to move. Renka growled deeply, and blood - luster eyes met his glare without words. He withdrew his fangs, pausing only a moment to kiss the marks, causing the skin to heal over.
They were not alone, in watching. The Cullens were on the roof with them. Edward watched wordlessly, with Bella tucked behind him. Alice, and Jasper were off to the right of him. Emmett, and Rosalie were to the left.
"I'm not dead, you know." the formerly motionless girl rolled her eyes, with a snort.
"I'm not allowed to turn her either." the vampire beside her shrugged.
"Bah. You know why, Mr. Vampy Shuva!"
"I know Terrin." he grinned. " Not allowed to drink the blood, if I did try."
The others stared, feeling relatively dumbfounded.
"How are you able to stop?" Edward asked.
The other vampire's gaze softened. "It's..She's my friend. I don't want to hurt her."
"He's never had a problem stopping." she added.
"Vampires, and werewolves. Quite an interesting bunch, you've got at your new school," he teased her. She shrugged, laughing.
"You came here just to see her?" Alice asked.
"Who else would I come to see?" he replied. "But yes. I did."
"What do you do, when you can't get to her?" Alex asked.
"I use blood packs, for that, or go hunting."
"What do you hunt?"
"Animals, what else?" he shrugged. "I don't feed on her, unless I have to."
"Terrin.." Renka spoke, and she walked over to him.
"Yeah?"
He pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly. She could feel him trembling, and suddenly, felt a like her heart dropped into her stomach. "Don't go alone again.." he whispered.
"I'm sorry..." she squeezed his hand, gently.
"Please..." he hugged her tighter.
"Alright." she nodded, and he slumped in relief, burying his face in her shoulder.
"It's time for me to go. Goodbye for now," Shuva spoke, from in front of her.
"Bye for now, Shu."
"Carliste would be interested in meeting with you." Alice spoke, opening her eyes.
"A matter for another time." he answered, with a nod. With that, he was gone.
"It's dangerous..." Bella spoke.
"Bella..." Edward started.
"I know."
She stared at the other girl, before meeting the Cullens' gaze.
"I know..what a person is, doesn't make them a monster. It's a choice." she finished.
Rosalie disappeared down the stairs, with Emmett nodding, before following after. Bella blinked a few times, before she and Edward too, went back. Only Jasper seemed to stare for a long while, as Alice only smiled, and waited patiently. Before they too left, and the others were now alone.
She shivered, and let out the breath, she hadn't known she'd been holding. Trembling, as she met Alex's eyes, and then stared at the ground. His face had been blank, unreadable. She shuddered, from the sudden warmth, of a hand interlacing with her own. Looking up, and over, to realize Renka hadn't left her side. Her legs gave out, and she slumped to the ground. She was crying; feeling very overwhelmed.
"Terrin...?" Renka was calling her name.
A knot formed in her throat, and she could only shake her head.
"Terrin...?" he tried again.
"...yeah?" she managed out weakly.
"Out." barked Alex impatiently. He bared his teeth slightly to Rosie, who fled his anger by leaving.
"Alex..." Boomer spoke up.
"Do you want to stay?" the male ignored the other's unspoken question to look at the girl.
She mumbled incoherently.
"She's needed." Boomer stated calmly.
"For?"
"Renka's imprinted on her."
Renka's gaze went up to the other males then.
"Move away from her, and stay there." Alex ordered him.
"But..."
"But nothing." Alex bared his teeth.
Growling deeply, he slumped, releasing her hand, and moving far away, to where he'd been pointed to. Her tears began to fall freely once more, slipping down her cheeks slowly. He counted every drop. His growls turned to whimpers, as he yearned to go to her. But he could not disobey his alpha, and began to feel distressed. Still longer, Alex bore his teeth at him, and he could not move. Soon, a full hour had passed. She couldn't stand it, but nevertheless, stayed where she was. Helpless to go near him, as he'd have to move away again.
"Alex..please.." she begged, finally.
