~ the Coven - Chapter 4 ~
They had just stuck the fish in the backseat, when a shadow walked up behind her, scaring her with his sudden voice. "What are you doing here, Bells." he demanded. She whipped around quickly, meeting his fury with an eerie calm.
"I was getting fish for Charlie.." she whispered.
"Who's with you?" he asked, more quietly this time.
"Her name's Terrin. She just moved to Forks." Bella introduced her.
"Nice to meet you," he nodded politely. "I'm Jacob."
"Nice to meet you too," she smiled, but rubbed her neck nervously.
"Hey, would you...like to hang around, a bit, and see La Push?" he hesitated a bit, before asking.
"Sure, if that's okay."
"I can give you a ride back, if you need one."
"I have to go." Bella shrugged. "I'll see you tommorrow then, Terrin?" she formed it more like a question.
"I'll take care of her." Jacob answered.
"See you tomorrow, Bella." she spoke up still.
The other girl nodded, and she waved her off. "Thank you for letting me come along, too."
"No problem," Bella smiled.
"Where is he?" Jacob asked, after the truck was out of site.
"Who?"
He gestured to the perfect red droplet stain, on the collar of her shirt.
"Well?" he asked again.
"Not near here."
"Do you know where?"
"No, sorry. I don't."
"You're safe here."
"I know him."
He stiffened then. "In what way?"
"Why?" she tensed then.
"He is not allowed to step foot on this land, or we have a right to take care of him."
"But he wouldn't know that!"
"What kind is he?"
"A friend."
"Great, another one," he mumbled under his breath.
"So, she is with Edward, isn't she?"
He visibly tensed then. "What of it?"
"I'm not with the Cullens."
"Is he?"
"No. He feeds on animals.."
"Then - "
"I donate."
He wrinkled his nose at that. She sighed.
"Only for him. No one else." she explained a little.
He relaxed some.
"Calmer please. I don't do it to cause trouble, but prevent it."
"You're providing yourself as meal."
"Rarely," she snorted. "He only does it as a last resort."
"Has he ever had trouble stopping?"
"No."
"I'm just worried.." he sighed.
"Seems like a habit since I've been imprinted upon." she shrugged, and sighed too.
"You what?"
"To a werewolf, if you really what to know."
"Seriously?!" he asked.
"Well, yeah."
"I am one."
"Figures."
"How?"
"Your body's warm."
"It's what? oh..."
He had leaned over her to confront Bella, who'd been in the truck. But, he'd forgotten to move away from her since then. His hair was dark as coal, and his skin tan. His eyes were warm, and friendlier then they had been. He stepped back, just as two other boys walked over. One's presence made her smile. The other's..the taller one, made her feel the need to avert her eyes, and she did so.
"Sam, Embry." Jacob greeted the other boys. "This is Terrin."
"Nice to meet you." she spoke quietly.
"A wolf girl, eh?"
"Guess so," she laughed a little.
They tensed though, and she frowned. "No way..."
A shoeless figure walked over to her, shaking tremedously. Two others came shortly after.
"We're sorry, He -" the blonde started.
"We're sorry to intrude on your territory." the calmer voice of Alex spoke to Sam.
She walked over to the first figure, who shuddered, when she reached out to touch his arm.
"Don't!" Jacob warned.
"It's alright." Alex sighed.
He tugged her into his grasp, and nuzzled her over, and over.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, as he buries his face against her neck.
"Stay please..." he mumbled out.
"I will." She nuzzled him once, and he swung her around, grinning.
"His imprinting was very strong."
"I see." Sam nodded. The other two chuckled.
"She wasn't kidding," Jacob laughed.
"How many do you have?" Sam asked.
"Five total." Alex answered. "There's another female. Boomer's mate, Rosalie."
"None for you?" he asked curiously.
"Not anymore."
"Oh...sorry."
He shrugged.
