Here's my first album review

So I thought that I'd review a band that we could all relate to here on theO. They're a fictional band who play otaku rock and they've become very popular among the otaku community. I'm talking about LeetStreet Boys. If you know about them, you know how big they are. If you don't know about them, then allow me to give you a little biography on them.

LeetStreet Boys are a fictional otaku rock band that sing about anime, video games, the many otaku stereotypes and cliches, and so on. They have a real band who have played at many anime conventions. The fictional band consists of members Matt, who is the singer and super otaku of the group and has been called a "Japanophile". Then there's the guitarist Justin, who is a narcissistic pretty boy who the fan girls scream over at their concerts. He's pretty much the diva of the group. Then there's Rose, she's the bassist and unofficial manager of the band. She's pretty much the one who keeps them from doing anything stupid. Then there's D-Dos, who is their drummer and unofficial bodyguard. And yes...D-Dos is a dragon. The real band is a two man band who consists of Matt, who is the singer and songwriter. And then the one responsible for the production, guitars, bass and drum programming is Frogs. They have released three albums, with the latest release being L3g3nds (Legends if you couldn't read that), which was released on October 23, 2012.

Now onto the album itself. I will be reviewing their debut self-titled album today. This album consists of many video game and anime references such as Mario, Fullmetal Alchemist, Street Fighter, Kingdom Hearts, the list goes on. Normally I don't listen to music like this (I'm what people like to call "metalhead}, but this band is different because of how I can relate to them since they sing about nerdy stuff. How most people wouldn't be able to take them seriously, I like every bit of their music. Even though they fully use autotune on the vocals, they fit the music perfectly. The guitar work is amazing, especially when the guitar solos kick in. When you listen to it you won't be expecting the guitar solos. The bass is spectacular (even though you can hardly hear it). I'm more of a bass person so I can hear it. And then when it comes to the drums, they're programmed (if you don't know what that means, it means they're computerized). But it still takes talent to be able to use a programmer.

The lyrics are about the typical otaku lifestyle, and there are many references on the album. I'm sure most of you will get most if not all of them. Like in their hit song that went viral back in 2008 Yuri the Only One, they reference Pokemon, Mario, WoW, Final Fantasy VII, and they mention the PS3 and Wii (which were next gen at the time). My overall thoughts on the album is that it's very enjoyable for anyone, you don't even have to be an otaku. As long as you like this kind of music you should be able to enjoy this. Now I've known this band since high school and my group would always listen to them. So I'm not trying to sound bias when I say these things about them. But overall this album was very enjoyable. I give this album an 8/10.

Here's a song by them if you want to listen to them after you read this:
