Sugar-Coated Lullabies
When the world fades to grey
and you’re just trying to live the day without going insane
there’s so many ways to go and paths to take
like you’re stuck in a crowded room,
memories consume you and
leave you breathless on your feet
I really want to meet you
In my dreams I hold you close to me,
as you whisper softly in my ear
sing me sugar-coated lullabies
and rock me to sleep every night
But when I wake to find you’ve gone again
off with someone else again
I know deep in my heart this is the end, but not in my head
then like you’re stuck in a crowded room,
memories consume you and
leave you breathless on your feet
I really want to love you
In my dreams I hold you close to me,

In my dream I told her
so, go put makeup on your pretty face
it won’t hide the scars
you’re lucky God gave you that pretty face

More than I could ever be and
I’m stuck in this crowded room,

Breaking hearts
and crushing dreams,
Counting up
the lives she takes.
She'll kiss your lips and break your bones

But you can't hate
this heartless creep -

Twinkle, Twinkle
Twinkle, twinkle, pitch-black star,
only I know who you are.
Among the stars, you’re dull and gray
like a needle in the hay
Next to gold, you’re hard to find.
At least you know you’re on my mind.
So, twinkle bright, my dying star
just because you’ve got this far.
