"Hey, Ryuk."
The Shinigami looked over at his human 'friend'. "Hai?"
"What happens if you erase someone's name in the Death Note?"
"Huh." He had never thought about that. "Well, that depends...has it been 40 seconds?"
"Yes."
"Well...um...I never really thought about that. But, I suppose if you wrote someone's name and then erased it before 40 seconds had passed then they wouldn't die."
"But what would happen if it had been 40 seconds and then you erased the name?"
Light pressed. "Would they stay dead? Or would they emerge from the grave as zombies?"
"I think they'd stay dead, Light."
Light was filled with disappointment. Well, drat, he thought. A zombie invasion would've been really cool...
