Depressing, I know. Writers block sucks. I'm planning to enter a happier story. Let's see if I get it done in time... << >>
Song: What have you done
Artist: Within Temptation featuring Keith Caputo
Characters: Jasmine ((newest OC)) Random guy who has yet to be given a name XD ((He'll have one in my next story if I get it done.))
Would you mind if I hurt you?
Understand that I need to
Wish that I had other choices
Than to hurt the one I love
Jasmine held the knife above his throat, readying herself to make the final strike. Tears stained her cheeks as she gripped the knife and raised it into the air. “I’m sorry. So sorry,” she whispered. She shook her head and clenched her fists. She couldn’t afford to fail now. Not after she’d come this far.
I know I'd better stop trying
You know that there's no denying
I won't show mercy on you now
He smiled up at her. Not the kind, warm smile she remembered that he’d reserve only for her. His smile was cold, provoking, as if he was daring her to try. “You can’t kill me,” he laughed, a strange glint in his eye. His features were carefree, like he believed that that was the truth.
I know I should stop believing
I know that there's no retrieving
It's over now
What have you done?
Jasmine hesitated. Maybe he was right. Had all of this been for nothing? No, it had to be done. She couldn’t let him hurt anyone else. But maybe... Maybe he could change... Was there any chance? As she stared down at his face, trying to find a glimmer of the old him, she knew it was no use. The person she had loved was gone.
I, I've been waiting for someone like you
But now you are slipping away
What have you done now?
Why? Why does fate make us suffer?
There's a curse between us
Between me and you
“I knew you couldn’t do it!” he laughed insanely and pushed her off of him, sending her tumbling. Jasmine quickly stood back up, her knife ready to defend herself. She lunged at him, but she was just a second too late. He dodged her attack, and hit her in the back of her head with the side of his hand. “Too slow,” he grinned. Jasmine stumbled, but a second later she was back on her feet.
Would you mind if I killed you?
Would you mind if I tried to?
Cause you have turned into my worst enemy
You carry hate that I don’t feel
It's over now
What have you done?
He attacked her again, this time sending her sprawling across the room. Jasmine stayed down, hoping that he would come closer, and that she’d be able to surprise him. Just as she’d hoped, he laughed and bent over, what looked like, her unconscious body. “I told you you couldn’t win.”
As if she’d gotten a signal, Jasmine sprang up. In a state of confusion, he was too slow to dodge as she buried her knife in his chest. “How?” he stared at her with wide eyes.
She clenched her eyes tightly as his body jerked, finally giving out. “It’s over,” she whispered as she quickly pulled her knife out, just as his body slumped to the ground.
I will not fall
Won't let it go
We will be free
When it ends
Jasmine collapsed on her knees at his side. She stared down him, tears filling her eyes, lightly stroking his hair. He moved his head so he could look up at her, and Jasmine got ready to fight if it was needed. But his next words shocked her. “I’m sorry,” he coughed, “I know you can never forgive me.” Jasmine was just about to tell him he was wrong, when his eyes closed, and his breathing stopped completely.
What have you done now?
