Reading Beneath the Lines

When I was just a kid
I had this teacher once
She's so round like a seed
And her belly bounced

"Read between the lines" she told me
But I can't understand her then
Because I cannot really see
When she said "you can!"

How can I read between the lines
When in a book there's none?
I don't know if I'm really blind
Or if I'd really come undone
