Flowers are Eternal

When the boy finally awoke, he saw the girl once again tending to her garden. She did the same ritual as the day before and then left to fetch some water. While she was gone the boy began his evil plan. He began to lay kindling around her garden quietly. He then lit a fire that quickly began to burn. The flowers shrieked and cried louder than any living person. The scared girl heard her flowers dying and ran back to her garden. She saw the boy there laughing as her garden was burning. Rage contorted her little pale face and in an instant her flowers changed. They turned from docile to hostile. The flowers grew to the size of giants. Their petals sharpened and formed into grotesque faces of death. The stupid boy stood there, mouth agape, as these horrid creatures dragged him into the fire that was spreading to the woods. The monstrous flowers trampled over the flames and wrapped the girl into a dark embrace. The girl smiled sadly. She knew it was time to leave. She liked this village. She would miss it's kindly people. As the flowers took her to another place and the village faded from sight she said one word... "Good-bye."
