Hammer to Fall

After a bit of digging and question asking I found out that the poor, misguided smuck was lead to diving after the ring in the well behind the guild. Chances are the old bastard dropped it in there just get rid of the smuck. Luckily, I wasn't an idiot. I paid a near by beggar a good sum to retrieve it for me. Now before you all get all mad that I'd just doomed an innocent beggar to a watery death, I also lent the man a ring that lightens burdens (It helps with the heavier armor). Did you really think me that heartless? So I kill for money and my matron the Night Mother. That doesn't mean I'm a totally evil girl. Anyway, beggars are useful. They have information.

After the man emerged from the well he told me that the smuck was indeed dead and still clutching the ring. I paid him the rest of what I owed and he returned my ring. With the task done I returned to find that the old bastard was, "dealt with", whatever that means. So I went to find the lizard and she was very much tired.

Happy thought.

I know her kind doesn't usually drink but the wine bottle that lay on the ground was a good sign that she didn't care about the effects.

Just a little more and she'd be a dark sister.

I debated whether I should offer her another, more lenient, job with better pay and company, but decided otherwise. Her race usually comes in two grounds: one that is more or less good and one that enjoys the grey areas of life. She seemed more from the former group. So instead, I asked about my recommendation and she told me that she'd already sent it along with her report in the old bastard.

With that done I felt it was time to talk to Niina. The Brotherhood was healing and the sanctuary was still fairly empty, so I know she must be a bit lonely. She wasn't at my place, so it wasn't much of a leap to think she was at her place. When I got to the top of the stairs she seemed fairly okay. She had heard some of it from my new second in command. She was a bit broken up about LL's death but she did believe me when I told her what the Night Mother had said.

After a bit of talk regarding what I was going to try and do with the Brotherhood I let her know of my new goal. And, as expected, she had a new costume for me. Well, not new in the way that I'd never seen it before. Apparently she'd made another one of the outfit I'd first seen her in. She'd made it for me that night after we first met.

I make this look good.

After a bit more talk I left her to watch over the sanctuary while I worked my way through the Mage's Guild branches. What fun!
