Surprised, I am not.
I'm lucky I have lots of money saved from all my kills. I had to pay the kid to get info on who he sold it to. I hate that I just can't go around and put knives to throats for the information I want. It does put a kink in my future plans concerning the guild. Still, I did get my money back. The kid is careless with his wallet.
Half a days travel later... (Midnight Sparkle and I are currently not talking. Well, okay, she's a horse and can't talk, but it doesn't change the fact that she still says alot with her actions. We had a fight and I kinda kicked her. I said I was sorry but she doesn't seem ready to make up yet.)
Didn't lose a dime.
I used the kids money to buy back the magic staff. It seemed only right given what I've had to do just for one recommendation. I damn well hope it is worth it in the end.
Le sigh...
Not once through all this did I meet the girl. Granted, given her current emotional state, I might not be the best person to speak with her. I'm not good with girls like her. Then again, I'm not really sure what kinda girls I'm good with. I'm still new to the world, so to speak. It will be some time before I can even consider things like that.
On the subject of girls I get along with, I dropped by to see Niina after I completed the task. I went to get a update on how the sanctuary rebuild was coming but ended up just ranting about the bureaucracy of the Mage's guild.
She still hasn't gotten any furniture.
Through all my ranting and raving she just smiled and listened. She's good like that. She also thinks ahead. Once I finished she brought up a good point which I hadn't even considered since I joined the guild. The bureaucracy I so hate will continue to keep me out in the public eye. It's only a matter of time before I have to complete a recommendation task in the same city of my ex-master. Before I continue my climbing of the ranks I should deal with this first.
I completely agree with her. And in the names of the Night Mother and Lord Sithis, I will finally do what I should have done before I went to jail.
To Be Continue...
