Been a long time otaku (if you use that word in a nice way), traveled to many exotic places, been shot at in at least two, and have a habit of writing short stories to pass the time.
Hang around a bit, you might find something you like.
Nana just was sent this by a friend. ZOMWTFBBQ
She doesn't have a clue what is being said but was totally rofling the whole time. If any of you speak and read Japanese, Nana would be ever grateful for a translation.
Is it just Nana, or does it seem so weird that Easter was yesterday. Nana's mother was saying that this only happens every hundred years or something like that. Because of the moon or some other not really Christian type reason.
It's not that Nana cares really, it's just weird that's all.
In other news, Nana is on spring break but since this is college she still has homework. Circuits, a speech, mambo, some logic but that's easy. Why so teachers feel compelled to give work for over holidays?
Nana just finished Clannad and has to say that apart from Air, that this is the best Key/Kyoto anim series. It hit all the right points for Nana. One of the biggest was the fact that it wasn't a completely one man show. Each character played a part in the change of the others. And the main girl, Nagisa, is a stronger character than her predecessors. Granted she's not perfect, but she does stand on her feet more than they did. Once Baka Tsuki and The Waffle House finish their English patch for the Clannad game, Nana will be playing that.
Nana has also changed units. She may have already said this but she can't remember. She is now in a medical unit. Why, you may ask. Because she needed a change in atmosphere. She use to be in an admin unit, but always tasked out to none admin things like recon and intelligence work. She's hoping with this change will come a steady job. At some point she may take the year long course to become a combat medic. If she does, her one weekend a month will consist of working in hospitals and the like. Those of you who know Nana know that she is not even the least squeamish when it comes to blood, so success at this job will rely on Nana's skills as a medic. Quite the challenge. One that Nana is willing to take when time allows.
Nana's been on a huge Manowar binge. It's all her older brother's fault. The passion of these manly men. The temptation of steel. The call of war. What's not to love.
True it is quite the masculine thing for Nana to listen too, but she doesn't care. If you haven't heard at least one of their songs then you must, NOW!
Brothers of Metal:
Strike while the iron is hot
Steel is strongest so say we all
And if we all were not brothers of metal would we fall? - no -
They tried to test our spirit
They tasted steel before we were done
Grinding their bones into the dust of the past
All blown away like a shot from a gun
We cast our lot together four still stand as one
Here we'll remain forever till our kingdoms one
Brothers of metal
We are fighting with power and steel
Fighting for metal metal that's real
Brothers of metal will always be there
Standing together with hands in the air
Let us drink to the power drink to the sound
Thunder and metal are shaking the ground
Drink to your brothers who are never to fall
We're all brothers of metal here in the hall
Our hearts are filled with metal and masters we have none
And we will die for metal, metal heals, my son
Brothers of metal
We are fighting with power and steel
Fighting for metal metal that's real
Brothers of metal will always be there
Standing together with hands in the air
Let us drink to the power drink to the sound
Thunder and metal are shaking the ground
Drink to your brothers who are never to fall
We're all brothers of metal here in the hall
Brothers of metal
We are fighting with power and steel
Fighting for metal metal that's real
Brothers of metal will always be there
Standing together with hands in the air

Nana's personal favorite: Master of the Wind
AMV to Shamanic Princess
May the road rise to meet you. May the wind alway be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May god hold you in the palm of his hand.
