So in my ever growing repertoire of labor intensive trades, I’ve recently added dry-walling. Between picking up shifts at the VA’s radiology department and working HR for my unit, I’ve been working with a guy redoing an office building’s interior. I never knew just how much was involved in putting up one wall. Once you get it down, it becomes easier but there’s a lot to remember. People wonder why I do things like this. I generally tell them that, even if I were to win big with the lotto, I’d still work. It’s part of who I am. Between bills and loans I’ve got a ways to go so any work I can get is welcome.
In other news, I’m moving my cooking focus to the Hispanic scene. I’m not talking tacos and burritos, but the stuff I had when I was in El Paso, TX at that hole in the wall, thank the gods they could speak English, restaurant. My first dish, sopa seca, awesome. I’m working my way up to menudo. I also need to get me some cow tongue for one of the dishes. Love that cow tongue.
