Well, it depends. Some people are just naturally nervous and jumpy...but yeah, that's not good that they scare you. Or that your parents let them get away with beating you up. If one sibling is beating up another, and the other does not want a fight, the parents should put a stop to it. I've seen people get hurt because of this.

Yes, it sounds to me like your family can be difficult to cope with...I might find them that way too. They sound like they stereotype a lot as well. I don't expect anyone to have to fight, and I think it's dumb if people want to. I did have to fight when I was younger, and I hated it.

Your brother shouldn't do that. I don't like to fight, but I used to have to, to protect my brother, and I didn't like to either. Because my dad always taught me not to hurt others. Like I said, he always told me, "use your words." But I had to defend my brother. Your mother should be more sympathetic. No one should have to "just take it". No one likes to be abused in any way.

I guess it's all in how you look at it...but he definitely got away with more. He once punched my asthmatic cousin in the solar plexus, causing him to fall to the ground struggling to breathe, and the adults only said, "Well, if you two didn't tease him so much, he wouldn't hit you." (Of course, Grandma said that, and he's her favorite.) but Dad let him get away with it too. When I was little, the number one rule in our house was "no hitting." My father, who disapproves of violence, made it very clear that in our house, no one was allowed to physically wound each other. When I was upset, he said, "Use your words, not your fists. Tell us what's upsetting you." (Of course, later on he told me I talked too much.)
True, we were teasing him, but we tease everyone, not in a mean-spirited way, and they all know that we're not trying to be mean. If my cousin was teasing me when I was little, Dad would have said, "Use your words. Tell him not to tease you, and if that doesn't work, tell an adult." And if I'd punched my cousin, let alone caused him a potentially serious breathing problem, I don't like to think about how much trouble I'd have been in.

Yeah...it doesn't look as if he'll ever grow up. I also believe my parents spoiled him growing up. If I'd pulled some of the things he does, I'd never have gotten away with it. For example, when I was little, if I was refusing to eat a meal, my dad just said, "Okay, then I'll eat it." They wouldn't cook a second meal for me because I didn't like the first one. My brother was the pickiest eater I've known, and my parents at one point were only making three or four different kinds of meals because they didn't buy anything David didn't want. They also allowed him to be rude to our relatives (mainly about food). So, yeah, he's pretty immature and self-centered. Still, I'd at least have thought that after the night I had he'd let me sleep.

I know and I can tell that it can be pretty annoying. Still you can't do much, that's one of the things when being older sister.
You can try, but.. He probably doesn't even know how he is lucky that he has such a good older sister.
Maybe he will understand that later.^^
Thanks. It really does annoy me when he does that, or when the adults make excuses for his behavior by saying, "He's little." He's twelve. That's not that young. It's only because he's younger than me, they see me as "older" and David as "little".
It's like my dad says. (He was named after his father, so they call his father Billy Senior and they call him Little Billy.) He says that he's taller than his own father and his relatives still call him "little Billy".

I am really sorry to hear that Sara.. That must have been quite awful! I can see that you are not well and your brother doesn't seem to understand you... Bu that's how it can be with kids, they can't feel when they hurt someone.
I hope that your brother will understand and that you will still get some rest there. You definitely deserve it~!

It is possible...but I still pray, just in case. I mean, look at it this way. Praying won't hurt me, so I've got nothing to lose if I do.

Yeah, then I probably would not get along with him. what kind of jokes? Or are they not appropriate to post here?
My cousin makes jokes like that to annoy me, but he doesn't really mean it.

Oh. It doesn't sound like I'd get along with your brothers. They sound a lot like mine, only my brother is very timid.

Yeah, my little brother is the type to tease as well.

Huh. My brother and I never really fought like that. My cousin and I did, but my brother used manipulation to win his fights.

Maybe. Then I'd be able to understand other people as well.
When you and your brothers were young, did you physically fight each other?
