So as many of you know, I went and saw Harry Potter again today. In 3D. I really wanted the special Harry Potter 3D glasses, but it turns out they only gave those out at the midnight premier. BUT--my mom asked them if they still had any. They went looking. Guess who now owns Harry Potter 3D glasses? My life is complete.
Anyways, the 3D was pretty good, though in a couple places I feel they could have done more with the range of effects 3D allows, and some scenes were a bit blurred in 3D where they weren't blurred in 2D. But the 3D enhanced a lot of the scenes. Overall, I'd say 3D is not better or worse than 2D. Either way, the movie is AWESOME!
One thing, though. If you do see it in 3D, I advise you to sit fairly close to the screen. (I mean, not too close. But not really far up.) The reason I say this is because we tried to sit where we usually sit for 2D movies--midway up, in the middle, so the center of the screen is at eye level. The thing is, 3D is supposed to make it seem as if you could just walk right into the scene, or as if you're already in it. The effect just isn't the same when the screen is far away, and when there's row after row of silhouetted heads between you and it. Just some advice...
I'll probably go back and see it again. Now that it's ended, I want to prolong this end for as long as I can.
