homg i made it back from youmacon in one piece! last week i was running on a total of 3-4hrs a day, and i went back and forth between Toronto and Detroit/Windsor 4 times (5.5hours each way). @,@ i'm gonna sleep so hard tonight, even the most violent of chaos will be ignored. the earth can shatter for all i care. xD
going to detroit, there were quite a few concerns, and chief among them was safety -- as the city went bankrupt and all.. and upon arrival on friday morning, we were taken aback by the haunting quiet of the city. there were almost no one on the streets, and no vehicles, and the only raucous seemed to be caused by the many congoers that come from all over the northeast. though i do suppose that at this point those who can have already left the city..? :(
youmacon itself however, was quite interesting! =D a different crowd, but not any less enthusiastic! xD more homestuck cosplayers than any other cons i've been to! owo and it would seem that people really enjoyed playing my kitty game, as my 'magical girl rivaille' postcard was practically gone by the time i came back on sunday. owo (i wanted to keep the last one for myself, but a rivaille with a cardcaptor sakura came to my table, and i had to give it to them! xD)
as always, i met awesome artists and awesome people~ ^^ got together with Crimson-Rose who is a super awesome, cool chick in real life! wings and beers were had. 8D alas, somehow i've missed my chance to go to the dealer's room again... llllOTL i wanna spend moneys too... T^T
TL;DR: youmacon was pretty sweet, and i'll probably return next year! :D
