Re: FMA Brotherhood 3

Yes FMA is taking over my life okay. I had a stressful day, therefore fangirling is the best medicine.

- Well that was definitely more entertaining than I expected! The problem with Lior is that the anime had the same basic events, but drew them out more - the tone difference is still present, but not quite as noticeable. Brotherhood decided to deal with this by making the facial expressions ten times more hilarious. I approve.

- I am in love with Ed's facial expressions and wish to marry them.

- I am also in love with Kugimiya Rie's "HONESTLY BIG BROTHER STOP MAKING A SCENE I CAN'T TAKE YOU ANYWHERE" tone. I think I see why her tsundere roles have such a following.

- Wow... the sweet martyr-ish first series!Rose always sticks in my mind, so I always forget that she is actually kind of crazed.

- It was also interesting to see Lior as the not-beginning; the narrative structure itself was tailored for the eventual reveal of the brothers' various missing body parts (and then, of course, there's the FORESHADOWING FORESHADOWING FORESHADOWING of the Icarus reference in the previous scene) but the second series kept all that. It may have seemed redundant at this point, but hey, they're iconic scenes, so I won't complain.

- Speaking of iconic scenes, I always love the "stand up and more forward" scene, in whatever medium. Definitely a great thematic moment for the series altogether.

- ... oh crap next episode preview I KNOW WHAT'S COMING NOW. D: Why do you repeatedly do this to me Arakawa.

- OH I ALMOST FORGOT I laughed my ass off when Ed referred to himself as "mushuukyou" ("without religion," Shinsen translates it as "atheist.") We literally spent an hour in Japanese Religions today talking about how Japanese people say that because they use different religions at different times and don't like to commit to belonging to one or the other. Obviously not what Ed meant, but it was an amusing coincidence,
