The tutor was slightly taken aback at the interruption, and he hesitated for a moment before gesturing to Matthieu to enter the room. As Matthieu moved, he heard a voice from behind him, and one of the students brushed past him into the room. As the teacher quickly described how to get to the principal's office, Mattheiu could feel some of the students glaring at him. He could see one of them in the corner of his eye, standing with her arms folded. Another spoke up loudly in assistance, and Matthieu forced a smile in thanks. He bowed slightly to the tutor.
"Thankyou for your help. Excuse me for the interruption, Monsieur."
With that, he backed out of the room, and continued up the stairs.
"I shall have to get used to that kind of behaviour." he thought to himself. His first impression of the students was that they were more interested in proving themselves than learning anything worthwhile from their elders. He shook his head and smiled; he would wait until he got to know them before forming any concrete opinions.
To the students' credit, however, the principal's office was exactly as he had said. Matthieu took in a deep breath, and knocked.
