Pausing for a moment, Matthieu glanced over the room. He noticed several of the students taking a keen interest, which enforced his confidence. He reached into his briefcase, and pulled out a small velvet cloth. He cupped his hands over it, and began to tell a tale.
"Vampires are an ancient race. Some say they even date back to prehistoric times. I have seen many a vampire in my travels, some young, much like yourselves, and some much older than I."
He held out one of his hands, where the cloth sat in the middle. It covered a small object.
"What I am about to show you is from the oldest vampire I have encountered. Sadly I was not able to learn much from him, but I have since learned much about him."
He removed the cloth, revealing a tooth, roughly the size of Matthieu's smallest finger. It was scarred and yellowed, yet still smooth in places, and the light played on it as Matthieu steadied his hand.
"This... Is a tooth. From the mouth of the one who turned me."
Matthieu awaited a reaction from the class, before continuing with his tale of this ancient vampire, the leader of the clan responsible for turning not only his wife and son, but Durant himself.
