Durant hesitated in confusion, as Amarie departed his office. Then, his mind suddenly racing, he lifted the glass of blood from the desk, and drank the liquid in one gulp. He grabbed his coat from the hook, and headed for the cafeteria, hurriedly putting it back on as he threw his office door closed behind him.
Bursting into the cafeteria, Durant realised he was sadly too late.
"Mon dieu!" he cried out as he rushed over to Rozu, kneeling down to look at her. His eyes moved frantically about the room. He knew he did not have the power to heal this by himself, and there was little in the cafeteria which would help him. Removing his jacket again, he rolled it up, and put it under the girl's head, so that she could rest on it.
"I'm going to head to the nurse's office. She will have something there I can use."
Reluctantly, he stood, and left the cafeteria. As he did so, he heard a loud shrieking noise from down the corridor. That would have to wait, however. He turned, and headed swiftly for the nurse's office.
