Holding back to allow Amarie and Ed to carry out the remainder of their plan, Durant looked on excitedly. He was ever ready to assist, should he be needed, but he had every confidence in his students. His body tensed as they approached the girl, now kneeling on the floor, and he listened intently to the altercation.
Suddenly, Durant had a sharp intake of breath, as he saw Amarie launch herself furiously at the creature, stabbing it with her weapon of light. Moving forward slowly, he lifted his arms in front of his face, as the poor being on the floor erupted in a blinding explosion.
As he passed Sessa, he paused, and cast his eyes down to meet hers, smiling.
"You performed exceptionally, Mademoiselle. So much excitement, and on your first day here." He gave a bow, then continued on to join the other vampires.
"You're very welcome," he called, as he approached. "The two of you did very well also. I was most impressed." He crouched, and placed a hand on Ed's shoulder. "I am sorry, Edmund. You are right, she is in a better place now. She will not be forgotten." Durant sighed deeply, and stood up. He gave a brief smile to Amarie, then turned his attention to the doors he had blocked off earlier. With a wave of his hand, the bench moved back to its' original position.
