Good Morning~

Welcome to the Ninth Division barracks. I am the captain, Suisenro Koriyama and... *looks around then smiles* I am sure my Lieutenant is around here somewhere.

Please do not bother the editors/writers of the Seireitei Communication while they are busy working. Also, there is no smoking in the Communication offices. Other than that, *waves* make yourself at home.

Suisenro Koriyama, Division Captain~~

The Truth Behind Truths:

Suisenro sat at his desk, shuffling through documents, signing off on paperwork, plus editing a few articles of the Seireitei Communication for Lieutenant Hisagi. He had a slight headache from all the stress and tension that had been piling up since the death of Captain Hitsugaya. However, he could not afford to be distracted, so he brushed it off. Leaning on his desk was Tsuenoraiden. He was not in his physical form, for once. But he could hear him, feel him in the back of his mind.

The woman captain approaches.

"Huh?" He blinked.

Just then Nori Mutsu, captain of the Third, walked into his office carrying several stacks of books.

"Captain Mutsu. Hello."

“Captain Koriyama,” she said with a bright smile stopping before his desk. “You’re looking well. Well, at least compared to the others that are suffering the effects of the loss of Captain Hitsugaya.” She adjusted the books in her arms. “May I ask you a question and receive an honest answer?”

"I have nothing but honest answers," he tilted his head at the books curiously. "My sister would be most upset if I were to lie. What is it you ask?"

“What are your thoughts on this Seraph; Kita?” Nori asked him.

He was about to answer her when she dropped the stack of books to his desk top and peered over the top of them as he sat behind his desk. He then watched as she disappeared behind them and one of the books slowly slid off as she removed it. He could not see her for the books being in the way, but he was sure she could hear him all to well as he cleared his throat and began to speak.

"Well, in my honest opinion, as you requested, I believe she is very powerful, and people with power are either underestimated or misunderstood. Which of these she is, I know not as of right now, as I do not have adequate information on her to make a decision."

He stood up slightly and peered at her over the books. "Satisfactory?"

Nori stopped thumbing through the book and looked slowly up at him as he peered over the books at her. Her head tilted slightly to the side as she batted her big blue eyes at him.

“Do you know anything of the God’s and their minions?”

"Not much," he sat back down. "I was trained for the Gotei 13, not mythology." He paused and scrunched his nose. "That makes me sounds like a test tube baby."

Nori laughed softly at his last comment. “I too was trained to fight and protect as well, Captain. However, I was well versed in other teachings as well.”

She walked around his desk and placed the book in front of him. She then pointed out a passage printed upon the page. “Please read that?”

Suisenro took the book and read from it out loud.

"While powerful, the Seraph is incapable of killing. The Seraph's purpose is solely to record information and watch over the Guardian." He looked up at Nori. "Guardian?"

Nori nodded and walked back around his desk grabbing yet another book from the stack. She flipped a few pages and started to read.

“The Guardian: A prodigy of the human, soul or Godly realms. This heavenly body is and was created for one of the two purposes."

She paused and looked to Suisenro her finger marking her reading passage in the book. Her eyes drifted slowly from him back to the book.

“One: To protect and lead others bringing peace and prosperity. Or Two: To wreak havoc and mayhem bringing death and devastation.”

His nose scrunched again. "I wonder which the Guardian is destined for as of now. More so, who is it?"

The book snapped closed as Nori looked to him. “From the information I have been gathering,” she spun quickly her long silver hair and captain’s haori flowing behind her as she made quick steps around his desk once more. Her hand was raised and her index finger pointed upward as to make a point. She then quickly spun again and spoke making Suisenro jump slightly in his seat.

“I believe it is Captain Hitsugaya.”

"Hitsugaya? But Hitsugaya is... dead."

Suisenro's expression became thoroughly confused. "Why would the Seraph kill the Guardian?"

Nori sighed heavily and dropped forward to the front edge of his desk. Her palms flat as they made a popping sound as they hit his desk. She dropped her head as it shook slightly. “Is your memory only as long as your pinky finger?”

Suisenro recoiled back, surprised and shocked at her comment. "I beg your pardon? It was a valid question. And I was merely repeating the fact that Captain Hitsugaya is dead for my own sake."

Nori swiftly lifted her head and looked at him. “You’re still missing it!” She announced pointing at the passage in the book sitting before him on his desk. “Did you not read this just second before I read my passage? What did you miss there? What is the key word in this whole mess that everyone is overlooking?”

Suisenro jumped again. As he recalled the passage he started to debate whether or not the captain coming to him was a good thing.

"The Guardian is either a protector or a destroyer," he summarized. Then he thought to himself. "Did she kill him because he was destined to wreak havoc?"

Nori’s hand slapped over her face as she sighed again. “You are prim material for this place.” She stood erect and snatched the book from his desk. “I will read what you just read to me when I ask you to read it.”

She looked to the book and reread the passage. "While powerful, the Seraph is incapable of killing,” Nori emphases strongly and boldly, “the Seraph's purpose is solely,” again she emphases, “to record information and watch over the Guardian."

She looked to Suisenro with wide questioning eyes. “What did you miss there that everyone else is missing as well?”

"The Seraph couldn't have killed him." Suisenro clicked all of the pieces together. "She's physically incapable of killing. So..." Suisenro raised his hands. "What happened to the captain?"

Nori raised her finger again and grabbed yet another book and quickly flipped through the pages stopping short she started to read again.

“The Seraph at any given time has the power to seal the Guardian if they feel it is necessary. The God’s would then provide them with a sealing dagger of gold and gems. With a whisper of the passage ‘Anata ni, watashi wa raise no kisu o ataeru’ the dagger would then be drove deep into the heart of the Guardian. The Guardian would then be sealed until either the Seraph releases them or the Guardian could wake themselves to finish their duties.”

Suisenro nodded. "So then... what do we do? Do we tell the head captain?"

“I have tried. He won’t see me. Everyone is so wrapped up in thinking Captain Hitsugaya is dead and that the Seraph did it. They won’t listen to me.” Nori closed the book and looked at the pile of books she brought in that sat on the end of Suisenro’s desk.

“I have found book after book that says the same thing about the Seraph, but I can’t get anyone to hear me out.” She huffed in annoyance and turned away from him, “all they care about is making someone pay for what happen to Toshiro. And when they finally do get their hands on the Seraph they will be punishing her for something she never did. And they surely will not listen to her.” She turned looking at Suisenro once more. “And if she is killed for a crime she did not comment… What do you think the God’s will do with us?”

Suisenro shook his head. "They are Gods. We do not get any say in what they decide. Whatever they decide will be the final say..."

Suisenro looked up at her with sad eyes. "Looks like the Seraph is misunderstood."

“I think we need to pay a visit to the one they call Urahara in the human realm. I have heard Captain Ukitake is there. If anyone can get the Captain Commander to listen, he can. Also, I hear he is friends with the Seraph. I am sure he would be pleased to know this bit of information.”

Nori’s statement of going to see Urahara seemed more like an order than a request to Suisenro. He sat up looking at her as she stood before him and his desk.

"And... you want me to... go with you?" Suisenro questioned.

Nori looked at him dumbfounded. “I did say we did I not?” Her big blue eyes fixed on his.

Suisenro sighed. "Oh boy..."

Office Space

*RPer’s Note: Remember, Suisenro is a noble, so while the office may actually not be that bad/neglected, to him it’s a disaster area. Also, I’m sure Hisagi has done an exceptional job running the division alone, considering.

Attempt One

I had no idea what to expect before walking into the captain's office of Division Nine. Only that I was not expecting dust and cobwebs.

Even as I opened the doors, the hinges squeaked and the wood was stiff. Carrying only a small box of my personal things, I peeked in.

It was a nightmare.

I gasped at the scene. There was at least an inch of dust covering everything. Spiders crawled slowly along their webs in the corners. The shades were drawn, casting the office in total darkness. The top of the desk was piled high with unfinished paperwork. I was almost afraid to step inside. In fact, my head was barely through the threshold as I physically cringed as I smelled the stale air.

I pulled my head back and took a deep breath of fresh air outside before going back in and placing one foot on the floorboards inside the office. The wooden floor creaked and groaned and a draft from somewhere disturbed the shades. My eyes zeroed in on something moving in the corner.

I lost all courage and took off down the hallway, back to my quarters, my hair and robes trailing behind me.

Attempt Two

Twenty minutes later, I had gained the courage and resolve to do two things: one to do an extensive cleaning of the office, and next to go back to my room for my personal items and “set up shop.“

I had asked a group of shinigami where the cleaning supplies where. They politely gave me directions, however they also gave me a strange look as if wondering why a child would be willing to clean.

It was not as if I wished to clean it. However, it was my office and I was now responsible for it. There were no maids or ladies in waiting to take care of the mundane tasks for me. I had to become a grown up and responsible adult. So I cleaned the office myself.

In the end, an hour later, the office was sparkling. The dust was gone, as well as the spiders and their abodes in the corners. The furniture was clean and bright. The shades and windows were open; the air was fresh and sweet smelling with some poppies, daffodils, and roses I had placed on the tables. The books on the shelves showed their spines proudly, and the files that had littered the desk were now in nice, neat stacks, ready for when I decided to start on them.

I, however, was a mess. My hair was disheveled and my clothes smelled like cleaning solvents. Not to mention I had dust and dirt all over them. One look at myself and I retreated back to my quarters after putting away the cleaning supplies to shower and wash my clothes.

After I myself was clean once again, I picked up my box again and back to the office I went.

Since the color of the Ninth was a golden tan, I had brought some throw blankets for the couches. For two of the walls were two small tapestries with my clan’s crest on it. For the desk chair was a pillow seat. A picture of my parents and another of my two sisters sat on the desk top, as well as a small figurine of Raiden that Suirenko had made for me. And, finally, on the outside of the door hung a sign that brightly said, “Good Morning Everyone~!”

It was not much, but it did brighten up the previously dim and dark room that the office had been. Now, it was bright and welcoming. Stepping back to admire my work proudly, I sighed and smiled. After my moment of triumph, I walked over to the desk and proceeded to try and create a dent in the stacks of paperwork.

Of course, I fell asleep, and, of course, Raiden popped out to yell at me to wake up and finish my work.

All in a day’s work, I suppose.
