Plot Summary
Haru and his childhood friends Makoto and Nagisa have a passion for swimming. When they create a swimming club, they find themselves at odds with another childhood friend and the final member of the relay team they had a kids.
Story
The story is heartfelt, creating genuine friendships between characters, and having pretty good pacing. It can be light-hearted or it can be emotional, and it knows when to be what.

Characters
The characters are genuine and have good development, if somewhat stereotypical. They still capture your heart and make you care for them.

Animation
The quality of the animation is extremely high. It's bright and colorful, and the animation of the water is absolutely amazing.

Music
The anime had both a great opening and a great ending. The background music was pretty good, too.

Overall
Free! is a worthwhile watch. There are relatable characters in a good plot, with great animation and music.

It was kind of hard reviewing this =.= By all means, if I had followed my own rule, I should have rewatched it before reviewing it =.= Oh, well, I might rewatch it before starting the next season and then edit this review.
Nagisa is my favorite character =w= He's just so cute.
Fullmetal Alchemist Review
Plot Summary
After making the grave mistake of trying to use alchemy to bring back their mother, Edward Elric has an arm and leg taken from him, left with metal limbs, and his younger brother, Alphonse, is left with no body, only his soul attached to a body of armor. After becoming "Dog of the Military", a State Alchemist, Edward sets off with his brother with a new goal - to get their original bodies back.
Story
During the first half, the story was completely gripping, with little to no flaws. It was intense and emotional, with great comic relief: everything one could want in an anime.
However, it took a dive in the second half, lacking the quality in story that the first half had. It became almost boring, without as much intensity.
The ending... it's hard to not spoil, but it didn't turn out the way most would want.

Characters
Despite the faults in the Story, the characters are great, especially the connection between Ed and Alphonse. You can feel the brotherhood between them, how they're so dedicated to each other.
Almost all the characters have real development, and feel like real people. You feel the emotions with them, and care about them.

Animation
The animation is pretty smooth for its time. It changes the style for the more humorous situations, adding to the humor, but knows when to get serious. There were some flaws, but they weren't major.

Music
The openings were pretty decent, though none too particularly gripping.
The closings were... meh.
The background music was hardly noticable, except for one track, "Brothers", which is and will always be one of my favorites.

Overall
Fullmetal Alchemist has a decent plot and music, the animations was pretty good, but it's the characters alone that make this anime worth watching.

I refuse to watch this in sub. Vic Magnogna does a perfect job of being Edward, so... yup. Dub it is.
Log Horizon First Impression
First off, I gotta say, what's with you guys? I (out of curiosity) searched "Log Horizon" and found absolutely nothing. Nothing. This anime is awesome, and it needs so much more love than it's getting on here. >.<
Positives:

It feels like a MMORPG! Makes me want to play Lord of the Rings Online again... *is a nerd* >.>

Animation isn't quite up to par with some of the other really good anime that have been coming out lately.

Kuroshitsuji I Review
Second favorite anime as my 25th review? That works.
Plot Summary
In Victorian England, Ciel Phantomhive, after witnessing his parents being killed in a fire and being captured and tortured, he makes a contract with a demon and returns to his newly rebuilt manor and reigns as the Earl Phantomhive. With the help of new his highly capable demon butler, Sebastian, and the other servants in his manor, he helps solve crimes for the Queen - and searches to avenge those who killed his parents.
Story
The story here is incredible. It keeps a pretty good pacing, not revealing too much while still keeping you interested. Most of the plot twists are small, but some of them are known to be huge and unexpected. It maintains a great atmosphere throughout the entire anime, whether it's light-hearted or emotional. The last 6 episodes are so intense they can be called nothing short of a masterpiece.
The only concern some might have is how it can switch the tone from humorous to extremely dark back to humorous in the space of one episode.

Characters
The amount of character development is also really good. Almost all characters play a part, and most have some sort of development. The development is done wonderfully and each character has their own identity.

Animation
The animation is done fairly well. The details and designs really showcase the time period and add a colorful spark. It plays a major part in creating the atmosphere throughout the anime.
The only concern is that the animation can sometimes change to add to the humour aspect, contributing to the jarring changes in style.

Music
The music is done by who is probably my favorite anime composer at this point - Taku Iwasaki. The background tracks can be dramatic and emotional, or they can be playful and light-hearted, depending what is needed. The music fits seamlessly with the story and style of animation, only adding to the beautiful atmosphere in this anime.
The opening, both first and second, are from the same incredible song, but with different verses. The switching of only verses helps keep a steady sense of continuation throughout the anime, while keeping it interesting. Not to mention the great animation that accompanies both openings.
The first closing felt too light-hearted and takes away from the atmosphere that the episode itself created. The second closing, however, composed by the great Yuki Kajiura, was beautiful and added, rather than subtracted, from the anime.

Overall
Kuroshitsuji does a great job of creating atmosphere, whether it be playful or emotional. The story and characters are detailed and great, while the music and animation is done beautifully. The only complaint one might have is the fast switching from tones throughout the anime.

Seriously, this anime actually follows the Victorian times pretty closely. Trust me, I've checked. The only major difference is, obviously, there was no huge London fire and the Queen didn't die.
Favorite character? Ciel. It used to be Grell (I considered him to be a lot like me), but the second time I watched I realized that, sadly enough, he is mostly useless in this anime. His main purpose is to explain things about the Shinigami world. Ciel's development is so complex and subtle, you do have to be paying attention to completely get it.
And, though some may consider him pointless, I really do love Tanaka.
Dang I love this anime.
Now and Then, Here and There Review
Plot Summary
Shu, a carefree boy, goes to his old childhood favorite spot to think - on top of the smokestacks. He there meets a girl, named Lala Ru, and has a brief conversation just before men on mechanical snakes take her away. Grabbing on to the snakes, Shu is transported to another world where water is scarce, a world full of desolation, oppression, and isolation.
Story
While the plot isn't too involved, its realistic portrayal of events keeps the reader invested in the anime. The deep sadness that saturates the entire anime keeps enough atmosphere and emotional involvement that it's hard to put it down.

Characters
While a couple of characters could be considered stereotypical, the way they are portrayed brings a whole new light to them and helps them to become very relateable. They are each strong in their own right and do bring an emotional connection.

Music
The opening, while it can be considered boring to some, did get me excited for the next episode in a way most openings wouldn't dare to risk. By putting an exciting instrumental and simply featuring each character individually, it allowed one to think about each character one by one as you prepare for the next episode.
The ending is a sweet and gentle lullaby and its topic is thought provoking when one compares it to the anime.
The background music is beautiful, and is very calming and, at times, emotion-provoking.

Animation
The anime is just full of beautiful imagery - striking sunsets, shimmering hair blowing in the wind, a glowing cave. It's very solid and doesn't ever lower its quality.

Overall
Simply put, this anime is a masterpiece. It's thought-provoking, with beautiful music and animation, emotional, and simply incredible. I definitely recommend it.
