While not all the episodes carry the same richness of the first season, there's no doubt that the magic is still there.
The climax is weaker than that of the first season. Still it manages to end on a high note, giving a sentimental feeling to its conclusion.

There is still great character development in the beginning of the second season. However, the focus on new characters pales the character development, making no improvement to the first season.

Though many of the background tracks are the same, they bring back the wonderful voice and style of Suga Shikao for the second opening and another decent song for a mediocre ending.

Still the same great animation style of the first season, however this time with slightly fewer visual treats.

While slightly weaker than the first season, xxxHolic Kei still manages to bring the beauty and whimsy of the original anime we all fell in love with.

I have thoroughly decided that Suga Shikao is amazing. Beautiful voice, funk style, and, of course, is hot. Despite the fact he's 47 years old.
The one season where the beginning was a whole lot better than the ending. (At least in my opinion)
