Speed, Stability, and IE6 Improvements

Mike, our lead VV designer, has showered us with gifts today. First, for all visitors who use IE6, the site should look MUCH nicer. IE6 had some major design issues with our layout that have all been fixed. Second, everyone should see speed and general stability increase across the site, maybe even those with dial-up might see the site load quicker.

Thankfully, fallenangel8 was gracious enough to take control of planning for this year's AX meet-up! As a bonus treat, fallenangel8 is also planning this meet-up in tandem with the Anime Pulse guys, so this should make for a nice, big otaku meet!

A link to fallenangel8's first meet-up post can be found here.

I'm expecting to see a whole slew of pictures and videos, guys! Help make this meet-up something of legend!

theOtaku Premium Launch Features

Our paid premium program will be an ever-evolving entity like the rest of our site, but today we finally pull the curtains back on 10 of its launch features. (Though as you know having a cupcake next to your name when you comment and PM is the most important feature .)

We've also announced that people who sign up for our premium notification email list will receive a small discount on their subscription. This is our way of saying thanks to those loyal members who go first.

For the confirmed list of features so far as well as the email box to claim this discount once it's launched, click here.

Submission Limit Jumps To Three

We are experimenting with an increase in our quota limit per section, from one submission per 24 hours to three submissions per 24 hours. We are going to closely monitor the effect this has on submission quality and quantity over the next few weeks and then decide next steps.
