theOtaku.com Anime Podcast V - Ep. 24

A red bucket. What is green, has 8 legs and will kill you if it falls from a tree?

Goodness, the boys had a lot to talk about this week! Methinks they were happy about that. This week we cover all subjects from professional wrestling to post-mortem internet contacts to even Schrödinger's Cat. That's exciting. Also, they plugged my work, so I can't complain about that. You guys rock! Anyway, pretty good show this week, take a listen... and don't forget to comment!

Music - Bacchikoi!!! by Dev Parade from Naruto Shippuden

The following podcast may contain some coarse language that may offend some listeners. Discretion is advised.

For a link to The Watercooler World, go here.

And while I absolutely had no intention to be so shameless about plugging my own stuff... since Ichigo suggested it, you can find my story, "Food For Thought From A Would-Be Scriptwriter" here.

And finally, you can find Ichigo's travel log over at the Anime Pulse website (under the "features" tab). He's gettin' some crazy adventures over there. Go read. Right after the podcast.

Caption Battle: Sworn Enemies...

"It's that time again?"
"To carve duel weapons out of our boat oars?"
"To defeat Cao Cao at the Red Cliffs?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, because ironic readings are wonderful things: darknessslayer!

I would like to thank eHarmony for this perfect match.

In second place, striking my weakness for good Avatar references: Aceburner!

Akihiko: My first girlfriend turned into the moon.
Teddy: That's rough, buddy.

And in the coveted first place, with both a message (kinda) and a joke... Kensuke Ryumura!

Akihiko used to have a girlfriend, but now he smokes pot and hangs with a teddy bear.
Live Above the Influence.

Really, really good week, guys. I was extremely happy at how many good captions actually came out this week. Thanks!

Moving on to this week, I continue to clean out my super old pictures from our pre-VV days. This one comes from ThePockyGirl, fetures Fruits Basket, and involves Kyo (the cat) and Yuki (the rat). Have at thee:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. And remember: stamens are the male flower parts and pistils are the girl ones.

Challenges Fixes

Our challenges section, still in beta, is still at a distance from full release. However, I'm happy to announce two quick fixes to it:

(1) If you create a challenge, it'll automatically be added to your subscribers' backroom updates
(2) We've fixed a glitch where the # of entries displayed was different than the # of entries actually submitted

Eventually we'll add the necessary bells and whistles of editing challenges you've already submitted and figuring out ways to give challenges more exposure.

Gail's Spring Reviews, Volume One

As always, just playing the messenger, messenging the message along... ...messenging... no wait... um, ignore that part, pay attention to Gail: As the snows begin to melt with the warmer weather of spring a bountiful b...
