New Features: Friends Only Worlds

Thanks to massin's hard work you can now set your WORLDS to friends only status. That is, your WORLDS will only be accessible by people you've subscribed to. This is a good option for those who want to create more personal blogs or for those who want to send a message to all their subscribers in an indirect way without PMing them each one at a time. Enjoy!

Otaku Attraction: It's the Little Things...

It's Friday and you know what that means. It's time for another Otaku Attraction for the masses!

Thanks to everyone that sent me a video again this week. As always, it's very much appreciated.

It's a week before Halloween and that would usually mean that spooky videos are much more up to snuff than most in regards to the OA, but sparky3000 sent this video my way and I felt the need to share it. "These Small Hours" uses a blend of anime and the actual music video for said song to create a fine new music video that actually works quite well overall. It's pretty mellow and kinda tugs at the heartstrings here and there, but it's a really nice little video. Give it a view below.

(Here's a link to the HQ version: Whee, pretty.)

And that's all. Like I said earlier, it's a week before Halloween, so hit me with all your creepy, eerie, Halloween-y videos this week over at [email protected]. See you all next week!

Caption Battle: Trick Or Trap!

"It's that time again..."
"To carve Jack-o'-Lantern versions of The Last Supper?"
"To remind everyone that yaoi/yuri isn't inherently funny?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, for making me snerk: Linden Rathan!

MOZZLETOF!!!!!

In second place, for making me snerk even earlier than Linden Rathan: Ichigo of Anime Pulse!

BOOT TO THE HEAD!

And in the coveted first place, for making me snicker outright and keeping in the spirit of the holidays (which was not necessary but appreciated all the same)... Keizu!

Trick or treat! Smell my feet!

Thanks for comin' out, guys. And now for this week's caption battle... as if that Lucky Star Kerero Gunso thing wasn't scary enough...

This week's screencap comes on the recommendation of Red Tigress who nailed me with the most perfect holiday-based screencap idea possible: that trick-or-treating scene from Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (or "Knocking on Heaven's Door" if you're a purist) with the transvestite! Anyway, the one on the left is the unnamed transvestite (and yes, it's a man) and the one on the right is Edward (and yes, Ed's a little girl). And keep in mind that I already used the Admiral Ackbar reference in the title, so don't even think about shouting "It's a trap!" 'cause it ain't gonna work. Capisce? Good:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Now let's see some good stuff - you don't wanna win and then have the podcasters "mehh" your captions, now do you?

theOtaku.com Anime Podcast V - Ep. 2

Ichigo's at work and Batou's been drugged! On the plus side, though, he talked about the Writer's Jam, so I'm more than happy right now. Well, happy enough.

Now go to bed, Batou. You sound horrible today.

Music - Jiraiya's Theme by Toshiro Masuda from the Naruto Original Soundtrack III
